Heavy Horses is one of my favorite albums of all time. I like Stained Class and Tormato too, but not nearly as much.

As much as I love the band Queen, Jazz was the first album in my opinion that was not a masterpiece album. And Hemispheres is a true masterpiece album, and I have listened to that album so much. So Rush - Hemispheres gets my vote!

 

I have qualms with ADATR, but otherwise yeah, spot on. Hems edges out Jazz in my book too.

 

Also struggled between Hems and Springsteen's album, but my love of Rush won me over from there.

 

Stained Class and Van Halen are also brilliant.

For me it has to be Hemisheres - my second fave Rush album, followed by these 4(two of them are not listed):

From the posted list, I'd have to go with Van Halen, and then Obsession, before Hemispheres. Of the ones not listed in the poll, Outlandos D'Amour, The Cars and Some Girls would come before Hemispheres too.

It's tough to pass on Van Halen, here, but they're relegated to the obviously second best album by one of Rush's top 3.

One of the greatest prog albums of all time is not on the list? U.K. is by far one ,if not thee best release of 1978, along with Hemispheres of course. R.I.P Alan Holdsworth and John Wetton.
