Any album with Miss You on it can't be on any "best of" list. That stinker makes Counterparts look like a masterpiece.

But Shattered, Beast of Burden...

Two killers, for sure.

I like Pearl Jam's Beast of Burden more, though.

Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon would probably be my number 3 for this year.

Lawyers, guns and money :ebert:

As Meatloaf sang the year before...two out of three ain't bad.

As much as I love the band Queen, Jazz was the first album in my opinion that was not a masterpiece album. And Hemispheres is a true masterpiece album, and I have listened to that album so much. So Rush - Hemispheres gets my vote!

I have qualms with ADATR, but otherwise yeah, spot on. Hems edges out Jazz in my book too.

Also struggled between Hems and Springsteen's album, but my love of Rush won me over from there.

Stained Class and Van Halen are also brilliant.

There are a lot of good/great albums not on this list. A lot.

For me it has to be Hemisheres - my second fave Rush album, followed by these 4(two of them are not listed):

Darkness On The Edge Of Town and it's not even close.

Hemispheres isn't near the top of this list for me at all.

Yup I don't like Rush even a tenth as much as I like Springsteen and I low key hate Hemispheres lol

I am undecided...my first thought was 'there weren't that many great albums released in 1978, were there?' But yes, there were. Edited by Blue J
