  1. I hope everyone is having a good day! Did I have a dream? Crimson misty memory At the fireside Through the endless winter storm Endless rooftops from my window Silver, blue and frozen silence A deep Sahara of snow Frozen in an everlasting view I see red A pleasant-faced man His beard is white, his face is lined Bearing a gift beyond price The things I’ve always been denied, Precious gifts beyond compare Time stands still Feelings run high As excitement shivers up and down my spine This feeling I can’t rise above Then all at once Fly by night away from here To blaze across the heavens like a brilliant shooting star I think a couple of albums still aren't represented . . .

  2. Being a fellow musician myself.....Geddy and Alex have clearly explained their process many times. They jam together......they record their jams, they get the lyrics from Neil, they then start going through all their jam sessions pulling great riffs and piecing together phrases and parts, and eventually come up with their songs. They have written many many songs prior to Power Windows in sound checks on tour. After Grace Under Pressure they really started to pre-produce their stuff and do elaborate demos. Success affords you that luxury. As far as the seed? Whatever was going on around them in the rock world at that time was their inspiration......and they would then put their own spin on it and of course Rush had their own sound. But you can hear all their influences thru every phase of the band. Most rock bands wear their influences on their sleeves. It’s really not complicated as far as their song writing process. As far as the book......I thought everything up thru Hold Your Fire was outstanding. I loved hearing about his childhood, his parents, his early days before Rush and then the early days of Rush. It was great. Really insightful into his personality and his role within the band. Once we get into the Rupert Hine records and the second go around with Peter Collins.....we have heard all of this a lot in the internet era. Also Vapor Trail and beyond is welp documented in interviews etc. The real mysteries of Rush was the pre internet days. And that was the meat and potatoes of Geddy’s story for my taste. But overall it was a damn great read......and the audible book made it even better. He did a great job reading the book......it flew by for me. As far as the Woe is Me stuff......it did not rub me wrong at all. Everyone goes thru terrible loss in their lives.....some are able to deal with it better than others. They “earned” their way to deal with it. I mean these guys starved for their art and “made it" Does that make them less human? Does that make them have less trauma from the loss of loved ones? God no. How dare anyone be judgmental of people who suffer the loss of loved ones and have the ability to travel across the world to work out their problems (Neil Ghost Rider) because.....man they f***ing earned it. Success was not handed to them. I don’t get that working man BS attitude towards people with wealth somehow suffer less when they have dramatic events in their lives. Thats bullshit.

  3. I actively seek out music from all around the world looking for music. It's not easy, I listen to a lot of bad music, or boring music. But I'm rewarded all the time. It's ridiculous to think there's nothing new.. The industry works hard at controlling taste, and it's more successful than ever. Independence in radio is harder to find, so a dj can't break a band as often as they used to. It's harder to create a strong local scene around a new sound when instant entertainment is already in your hand every minute of every day. It's harder to commit to a band, hit the road and work for it, when the chances of making enough money for gas and food are lower than ever. Harder to sell music, merch, and tickets. The airwaves are more dominated by corporate music than ever before, switching dials in many markets is just an exercise in old music or pop music. Pop music is overly controlled now, and other new music is ignored. Of course old music is huge. A lot of people are new to it, and it's got more variety because more variety has a way to get heard. But music is art, creative people exist, and there's always someone playing around with a guitar doing something new. Music isn't exhausted. Old people have always been annoying in this claim. If it's new and good it's derivative. If it's new and not derivative, it's not good. Nothing says I'm stuck in the past like that. I could mention new bands I like and everyone will either say it's not good, or point out the styles they recognize, or both. Just like their fathers did to them, just like their grandfather's did to their father. Music is art, a lot of people who get into at want to create something new. It's harder to find than ever, but that's not the fault of the artist. There out there trying. A lot of them have to make money, though, and it's harder than ever to get your music listened to and paid for.

  8. Talking of which I watched the film version of Are You Being Served and it was very flat without the studio audience. If you watch the show itself you'll notice that after a joke and the audience laughter and reaction, the actors wait and sometimes respond to the audience. It definitely becomes part of the performance. Without that the film was like a no-atmosphere rehearsal.

  9. Well it's more of a mystery detective comedy show.

  10. It’s close but it’s LVS for me ⭐️😎 I must add that Lerxst also produced some top 🎸 solos during the ‘ synth years ‘ when he really had to step up in terms of cutting thru the synth layers with beautiful melody, suitability to the track, each solo’s composition and his individual uniqueness during these brief windows in those songs which gave him the chance to shine 💥 Just off the top of my head I find these following solos equally as outstanding as the 3 listed in this poll .. * The Weapon * The Analog Kid * Digital Man * Chemistry * Afterimage * Between the Wheels * Red Sector A * Kid Gloves * Emotion Detector * Marathon

  16. That's one you need to see for sure. It's probably a top 3 or top 5 sitcom of all time. It's up with Rising Damp, Porridge, Dad's Army, Fawlty Towers as the best of the best.

  17. Most earbuds nowadays seem to be outperforming over the ear headphones for portable use. But none(?) have mastered the wide soundstage of open back headphones, at least not dollar for dollar. Yet. I'm personally not a fan of how earbuds feel after a bit of time, I'll take the trade off for the heavier/bulkier headphones. The bright spot to all of this discussion is that there's the best portable and at home/studio options available in the history of audio, and the cheaper stuff is really really good too.

  25. Playing like absolute garbage and we've still outscored the Vegas offense. Out O-line is embarrassingly uninspired. Pacheco has too much hair to keep his helmet on, loses it for the second time and gets a shin to the melon. The self-destructive nature of this year's team is becoming a sick joke.

  26. During the London show he talked about why they couldn't do any UK and EU shows. It was a heartbreaking explanation... I was there and had to wipe away a few tears during the second half of the evening... Pretty emotional stuff... Especially with Alex sitting there by his side.

  33. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom This film exceeded my expectations of just how bad a DCEU film could be. My mother, sister, brother-in-law and I all thought it was bad. Two hours felt like three. The dialogue was juvenile, awkward and very predictable. The plot and ending were predictable. Sometimes, it seemed like the actors would wait an extra second for the director to tell them when to speak. Special Guest Star Randall Park, who was the whiny, annoying FBI agent in Ant-Man and the Wasp, co-starred as the whiny, annoying scientist working with Black Manta. All of his whiny, annoying screen time should have been given to Black Manta. The visuals were very good - better than in the first film. Many shameless "borrowings" of scenes and characters from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. The names were changed to prevent lawsuits. I graciously give the film an F. There is something definitely Fishy in the DCEU these days. I think it's time to completely clean the tank.
