Black Sabbath-Paranoid (9/10) Sabbath has......BAR NONE....my fav Rhythm section in rock/metal. Bill Ward and Geezer Butler. both are just monsters. Mick7 points

Black Sabbath-Sabatage (9/10) I think people short change Sabbath......particularly......Ozzy era Sabbath.....by just referring to them as metal all the time. i mean i'll admit that is there. Of course but the styles melded are really cool. On this album you have acoustic stuff. Theatrical rock (Think the Alice Cooper like Meglomainia and the Writ) Harder stuff (Symptom of the Universe) something almost bordering on synth pop (Am I going Insane....though that song is.......a song) I love the melting pot of it all. UFO- Lights Out This is a fantastic album! It's varied, excellently played, and whilst I'd agree with naysayers it's generic in part and nothing entirely original for that era, who cares when the songs are this good? Michael Schenker might be in my top ten guitarists ever! Just wow, they are like a blend of classic metal and AOR. Definitely one of the greats, playing them alongside Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Rush feels *right*.6 points

I think that even though this album garners quite a lot of positive attention, that it is still hugely under rated. This is top level rock and roll4 points

Animals and The Wall would top my list. I love that they both take the listener deep into the darker parts of the human psyche yet end with a glimmer of hope4 points

UFO- Strangers In The Night Okay, this version of Love To Love might just be my favourite song ever. Like WOW.4 points

Helloween- Keeper Of The Seven Keys pt.1 Another band I like a lot and never play (there is only so much time in a day lmao). I love this album and the following one. Listening to it again reminds me how much I love Blind Guardian and Rhapsody, which makes it a little puzzling I haven't delved deeper into this bands discography.4 points

I just heard this on Sirus XM's deep tracks channel earlier today and it made me remember that I always seem to read where people don't think much of this one. Maybe people don't like it because it's centered mostly around the guitar riff but what a riff it is. I'd say next to By Tor And The Snow Dog it's maybe my favorite from FBN. The title track is a bit too overplayed imo. The whole album is great but this has always been one of my favorites from it.3 points

Journey-Escape(10/10) Journey was my first AOR/melodic rock band so they have a speciel place with me. I love this record to death. Though I start it at Stone In Love. Karaoke wounded Don't Stop Believing' and that show Glee Snapped it's neck. i can't stomach the song anymore Everything else is a prime album. the 10 is cause i start at SIL lol Mick3 points

The version from All the World's a Stage is fantastic, played that A lot over the years!3 points

I love this song. I've been saying for a while that I want In the End played at my funeral during the recessional. The live version from All the World's a Stage. It'd be totally unexpected...particularly when the first part is rather melodic, quiet and poignant sounding in tone, and then the pause and it comes in hard and oh so good. I think it'd lighten the mood a little and send everyone along on a higher note. Particularly with the applause and "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" Not that I plan on having one soon. A funeral that is. Still...it's good to have plans.3 points

Avantasia isn't the kind of band that would ever get played on the radio during any decade. They don't have that commercial appeal. It's a metal project started by Tobias Sammet who sings for the power metal band Edguy. This is just the start of what they would become. It would end up becoming this big metal project that includes many guests vocalist from the metal world. Like Michael Kiske of Helloween. It literally became a metal opera. You should check out the albums The Scarecrow, Wicked Symphony and Angel Of Babylon. Those three albums form a trilogy. Finally, in the name of all that is great in rock and metal please stop listening to FM radio to try and find new stuff to listen to. It's not happening. There is no better way to find new stuff than going to YouTube and paying attention to what people post here and other places online. FM radio is completely dead.2 points

Thanks for the reminder and the Apple Scruffs clip...that was a great song. I was a big Lennon fan but George was always so funny with his deadpan look and his songs were always so good. Found this on YT a couple of years ago, so many funny clips of him2 points

The Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request (Mono). At the risk of descending into "real fan,"-ism, I love this album. You have to listen to it as whole, and you have to be in the mood for a "dark," Sgt. Pepper. Is it my favorite Stones album? Of course not. But when you're in the proper frame of mind, it's really a great album.2 points
