  1. Personally I think Jimmy is mightly talented, but also he is (was?) smart enough to know a good tune when he heard it - and take it. If you know a little bit of Zeppelin history, you know this was quite a habit for him.

  3. People generally say place names in their own language anyway. No one likes the kid who went to France for a semester and then calls Paris "Paree".

  4. Crazy sh*t going on. I went 53 years and about 4 months with nothing. Never a day in the hospital. Nothing but colds and normal stuff. Then in February started feeling terrible and its one thing after another. I am still fortunate compared to many and have lived a pretty damn charmed life...... :)

  9. Ah yes. 'One or more persons overcome by fumes', you'd have Head Office, Holbom, round here. I think I'd better run this over to our legal department. If you could possibly pop back on Friday... No no, look, I can't hang about. It's take it or leave it...we got to get back to...er...Paris, by tonight. :codger: :codger: :codger: That's not Paris. Jean-Paul wouldn't live here. It's a right old dump. Je vois que vous avez un chou. {I SEE THAT YOU HAVE A CABBAGE} But by then it was too late. The first cabbage crates hit London on July the 7th. That was just the beginning. Stand by to fire Mrs. Nesbitt. :madra: Favourite targets for the old ladies are telephone kiosks. Here a coach load of lovely ladies are on their way to speed up production in a car factory.

  11. Ladies And Gentlemen, the professor on the drum kit! During the 70s, Geddy said that a few times right before Neil started his drum solos. Wouldent it be fun if Geddy said that again on next tour?

  13. The man is an intellectual in his own right, but somehow I just can't see him grading giant stacks of term papers. However, I do think he would be hilarious in Ben Stein's role as the teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

  14. His work was among the gold standard setters, in my estimation (the Godfather series, Annie Hall, Manhattan, etc.). He will be missed by this movie fan.

  15. I am not torn. Just another bad match up. I never vote for this kind of stuff any way. BTW, "The Wall" is my favorite Kansas tune! That's a very good song, but "Nobody's Home" is my fav Kansas tune. Yeah, That's a good tune. But "The Wall" has an emotional attachment that will never go away.

  17. When it comes to Glenn Hughes and his recent work I think this album is the pinnacle (along with BCC): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/37/Glenn_Hughes_-_Music_For_The_Divine.jpg I don't even care about the guitar playing (which is solid and workmanlike) on this album because the songs are so good!

  18. There's a bit of one in Midnight Oil, which is ok but he doesn't really do anything interesting, it's just a quick generic blues-rock guitar solo with decent tone. I haven't got the album yet I've only seen the two videos on youtube so far. I'm not sure if I'm going to get it after your report because while I thought the songs were ok they didn't blow me away and if there isn't any crazy guitar solos as well, then what have we got? There's nothing to pull me back to the album when it's left on the shelf gathering dust...

  19. You can't be serious… Kansas had a few outstanding albums that I like very much, but their body of work does not even come close to approaching any legitimate comparison to the greatest band ever. You are right. I can't be.... :D

  20. Does his concert prevent him from going to One Direction concerts? There could be a problem with hearing the call from the booth in, say, Seattle, due to hearing damage. Drew is getting some new songs ready for their new album, one title is already known it's called "I Need an Explanation!"

  21. I just got it today and managed to get to the middle of the fifth song, All Falls Down. So far I like it a lot except for the fact that there are pretty much zero guitar solos on it, and from what Digi says, it is that way through the entire rekkid. I like Watts playing and his tone, and I had read where he was not a shredder, and that's not a problem. But come on! Doyle Bramhall II is not a shredder, but he kicks on his fuzz box and delivers strong, convincing solos. A couple of those first two songs were screaming for guitar breaks, but we just got more of Glenn Hughes screaming. And I do like that, but I'm just disappointed, so far, in this one area. Jason Bonham's drumming is thunderous. He just keeps getting better and better. The songs, so far, are well written and constructed. A lot of high energy and intensity is present. Track five, All Falls Down, brings the tempo down, but still remains extremely powerful. Overall, I will like it because the songs are good, the singing is great, the drumming is great, and the guitar playing is solid with great tone. But where are the solos?

  28. I love Kansas run of 70's albums....but they dropped off in the 80's and never regained ground. Whereas Rush had a wonderful 80's period and assorted gems beyond that. Rush it is. Mick

  40. This one's a bit shaky. Bond dressed up as a clown? A crocodile suit? A big fight involving circus folk and a hot air balloon? Still, the big fight on top of the train is a great action set piece. http://images.moviepostershop.com/octopussy-movie-poster-1983-1020190190.jpg A View to a Kill...Roger Moore is obviously too old by this point, which is highlighted even more because Tanya Roberts looks really young. That being said, I still enjoy this one, and it's nice having "John Steed" turn up, since we've already had Cathy Gale, Emma Peel, and even Purdy briefly. http://images.moviepostershop.com/a-view-to-a-kill-movie-poster-1985-1020258064.jpg

  45. GREAT IDEA! You know you're a Rush fan when... 1. You've memorized Alex's, Geddy's, and Neil's birthdays, but don't even know your own friends/familys birthdays. 2. You get excited over soup. 3. You know what a shrimp cot is. 4. You frequently quote Rush lyrics/songs 5. You think jazz is weird. 6. You mention Rush at least 15 times day. 7. You always want to kick someone's ass if they make fun of Geddy in ANY way. 8. You want to have an airplane made out of beef. 9. You wish the alphabet ended not in only "y, z" but "y, y, z." 10. You smiled, laughed, and shook your head yes to every one of these.
