Now reading An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage. I'm only about 70 pages in but it's fascinating; it talks not only of the origins of certain foods (the domestication of grains, for example), but discusses how communities, social strata, and civilizations are directly connected to food.

Just finished - Don't Let the Turkeys Get You Down, by Sandra Boynton.

I could only get through the first 34 chapters of that one.

it should be required reading in school!!!

Never a dull moment : 1971--the year that rock exploded - David Hepworth

It was very enjoyable! The author went month by month through 1971 talking about music and also news and events that made it an unusual year. I never realized how many classic albums had been released that year until I read this. (No Rush of course so only 3 stars instead of 4 stars, bwa ha ha.)

Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell - Brian May is one of the authors. It's quite fascinating, and the stereo images are very cool (the book comes with a viewer).

It's a bit on the pricey side, but I've been just getting lost in it. The depth and the detail of the images is pretty awesome.
