I forgot to mention that bassist Stu Cook sang lead vocals on three songs from CCR's 1972 album Mardi Gras.

This was the band's final album before disbanding and is ranked as their worst by reviewers.

Here's the three songs below that Cook sang lead vocals on. Listener discretion advised.

"Best" and "favorite" are two different answers for me... I just went based on who I enjoy the most, thus I am the only one who voted for good ol' Claypool and I'm not surprised. However, I think seeing Primus live lead me to that conclusion.

Hope I didn't miss any important ones!

uh Chris Squire

Oops

Well, I didn't really count backup singers into the mix, and I know Squire has probably done lead vocals, but he wasn't the lead singer of the band he's known most for.

Like Gene Simmons isn't the lead singer of Kiss...but he's on the list?

And how the f**k does Gene Simmons belong on any 'best of' list that refers to actual musicianship?

Gene sings lead on a number of popular Kiss songs.

Your list was solid. Some i dont recognize. All the better

God of thunder

Tough call between Sir Paul and Benjamin Orr but I went with the Cars crooner. I understand why he wouldn't be on the list but an honorable mention to the late Mark Sandman of Morphine...

I have really been enjoying the claypool lennon delerium.

I really enjoy the Claypool Lennon Delerium! Julian is my preferred Lennon son, but Sean Lennon is excellent in that context.
