  2. I love all 5 of these albums dearly... For now I am just trying to protect Automatic For the People for nostalgic reasons, as I foresee others in this forum trying to get rid of it.
  3. Bill Berry disowned the album and it took some time for Stipe and Buck to appreciate it. Fables of the Reconstruction is one of their best. Top 3 at worst. For me it feels appropriately placed where it will likely end up, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if it fared a bit better. I appreciate the folky musical elements and Southern Gothic themes and tracks like Maps and Legends, Can't Get There From Here and Driver 8 are amongst my personal favorites of their catalogue, but for my ears it feels a bit less consistent than some of their other albums. Those are just my opinions and the fun of these polls is to see where other people stack up!
  4. Fables of the construction is a great album, but it is outclassed by the remaining albums released before and after.
  5. Ugh, so sad! I love Mad Season, QOTSA and Screaming Trees. I will miss his gravely and distinctive voice!
  6. Despite the fact that there was not too much competition (though, someone did get cut), I found out that I got into my college's somewhat competitive jazz band after deciding to audition pretty last minute!
  7. I need to bring some cheesy, cheesy glam metal to the table (a shameful guilty please of mine). Thus, I must bring up Fly High Michelle by Enuff Z'Nuff
  8. The first time I distinctly remember hearing Rush was in 2007 when Snakes & Arrows came out in the car with my dad. I was 6 years old and had a blast jamming out to Far Cry. I'm sure I heard Rush before then, but that is the first time I'm cognizant of.
  9. I really enjoy Igorrr! They blend so many influences together.
  10. I somehow missed this (sorry!) but thank you for listening to that show!
  11. 12. Hi all, If I haven't shouted it from the rooftops loudly enough, I'm a college radio DJ. I figured this would be an appropriate place to highlight/shamelessly self-promote my new prog rock/metal radio show Permanent Waves. Unfortunately Rush in its purest form is too mainstream to play at the station, but I will be playing a wide variety of other lesser-known prog artists that capture my interest. The first hour of the show will be '70s/'70s-esque prog rock, and the second hour will be more modern progressive rock and metal. You can check out both hours, or just one depending on what seems more interesting to you. The show will be airing on Tuesdays from 3-5 EST at https://www.wzbc.org. You can play it by pressing the play arrow in the upper left corner of the main page. If you are interested in checking it out but are not able to listen live, the archives are posted here: https://www.wzbc.org/archive and you should be able to download the files. The first hour of my first show is messed up, but if you want a preview into what the show is about, you can download and listen to the May 18th 4pm file. If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to PM me.
