The Gush Over Rush Thread

Here's the video that brought me here to TRF almost four years ago, back in the day when I could load them at five to seven seconds a minute:

I am so glad you have fast working Internet now. Honestly it must feel awesome to be able to listen to songs you have not heard in years!

Oh, it is, Segue! And being able to listen to new stuff too is great! :)

Gush, gush! That song is one of my favorites and what brought me to TRF as well- my favorite Rush memory. Thanks for putting this up!

Hey, Lorraine, when are they going to update your username? I'd suggest High-Speed Highness ;)

Haha, that's a good one. I'm kind of partial to Dial-Up Diva, but it is out-dated!

How about Digital Diva?

Even dial-up Internet is digital!

I'm glad this particular video brought you here too. :) Maybe there is a subliminal message in it!

It took me forever to load it, then I watched it over and over and over again. I had forgotten what a song Limelight was, and I was so taken with Alex and Geddy in the video, having never ever actually seen them perform ever. I just knew their music but nothing about them.

Excellent!

I'd love to know what new stuff you are listening too! I am currently trying to get through the Cheap Trick discography for the first time and I need to get back into The Police.

This should be in the commentary thread!

True but it sounds more "modern". ;)

Speaking of working one's way through discogs, I am on Paul McCartney's solo discography and it is quite the experience. I love Paul, even his "silly love songs".

Still not pinned?

Is there a good reason this should not replace "Orbit Room Store Now Open"?

That's funny. I forgot that thread was even in this section. Doesn't get much business, does it?

Maybe we better leave this thread where it is. ;)

Here's a gush.

I've been watching a lot of documentaries of bands lately, and none of the bands hold a candle to Rush when it comes to dignity and decorum.

The only other band (that I know) that is so respectful, dignified and genuinely nice in interviews is The Moody Blues.

Lots of good stuff you've posted here, I haven't watched the newest interview so it will be good to have a look. The Metal Show stuff was great, it came out around the time VH1 was doing Rock Icons series and Geddy was the first one they played.

I love this song! I find it to be really quite motivating to listen to. This version is my personal favourite -

OH YES! I never really had given Marathon a good listen until I heard it on Time Machine and then I absolutely fell in love with it  :D

Yeah same here. I didn't really appreciate Power Windows itself either until the Clockwork Angels tour. Grand Designs especially was epic live.
