The Blue Record is one of my favorite modern metal albums. It's pretty diverse (thought not as much as what came later) and remains engaging throughout the whole album. Lots of little guitar interludes and really nice artwork. I was really torn between this and the Red Album because that one is equally great too

Paradise Lost- Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us

 

Just a major high point in the goth metal genre for me. Earlier albums broke new ground, yes. But this is the best work they ever released.
