Ace of Spades isn't a Motorhead album? We got that one early, way earlier than Stryper

I can remember first seeing a review in RS mag and gave it a try. The riffs kept coming and all done by three guys. Then saw then live in a small in DC even better sounding live.

I owned Vivid too. I liked it. I also liked a band called Farrenheit's debut. But there's a reason why that album, and Vivid, have vanished into history, and Appetite is still a lock to appear on most people's list of 5 greatest debuts of all time.

 

GNR are an easy target now. But in 1988 they were poised to become the next Rolling Stones. Appetite was the bridge between the hair bands and Nirvana.

The greatest debut album by a band ever? It's hard to argue against it.

No it's not. Just last week I said something along the lines of: Some 25+ years ago when my buddies were praising Appetite I was into Living Colour's Vivid. Way more talented band and enjoyable IMHO.

 

GnR are codswallop.

 

Insay this as a Bon Jovi fan.

 

As long as you can acknowledge that after New Jersey, they have no good music, and through New Jersey they have about enough good material to release a solid vinyl album. Thank God for the time limitations of vinyl.

My favourite Bon Jovi album is These Days and I love everything before it and like or love everything after it haha!

 

I don't really have anything against GnR. I dislike them but they are for many a great band.
