Rutlefan
My absolutely non-technical take, in no particular order:Â Neil Peart (really because he's 1/3 of Rush, and has wrote some pretty awesome songs, esp early on; not a huge fan of the technically-precise power drumming, but have to admire the ability even if I can't pretend to begin to appreciate just how accomplished he really is)Mark Brzezicki (of Big Country; just love his style)Stuart Copeland (Ditto re the style)John Bonham (his drumming both blends seamlessly and yet is always noticeable -- in the best way -- at the same time)Roger Taylor (The Great Roger Taylor; my favorite Queen songs tend to be Roger Taylor songs; what a freaking awesome voice)

Ancient Ways
Neil Tony Thompson Bill wardNickoGavin HarrisonOff the top of my head. Bill was way ahead of his time. Neil is Neil. Love funk and r&b and tony with chic was amazing. Nicko brought great drumming to modern metal and is the main reason maiden sounds more modern than priest. Gavin is insane. His work on FOaBP is awesome.

Lucas
Buddy Rich is one of the few drummers that I can actually watch and enjoy playing alone . . but I really only know him from youtube clips .. He is arguably the greatest drummer of all time, however, Bun E Carlos propelling Surrender and giving some of the greatest power pop songs ever that kick in the behind means more to me
