Narps
I just listened to Chain Lightning. A masterpiece it is not. It is a poppish ditty akin to The Speed of Love and other ditties that Rush did during that time period.Poopish ditty is a great description. Love it... :) I laughed harder at this than I probably should have What? ... :)

bluefox4000
when you look at the old records. it's actually wonderful that some bands/artists had the balls to fill an entire side with one song. I love it. Mick

I don't know of any place, secular or religious, that those lyrics do not apply. No matter where you go today, you will find folks fighting themselves and fighting each other.
laughedatbytime
I think Segue should start a thread for Presto lovers so you can all gush to your hearts content. :) Presto has many good songs, but it is no Hemispheres, no matter how you dress it up. Presto is tinsel compared to Hemispheres. You added three letters to the description of Presto in your last sentence.
The Analog Cub
Presto is kinda the ...And Justice For All when it comes to production. Very tinny and missing a lot of substance. The difference here is that Justice has a few good songs on it.

MMCXII
Presto is my favorite Rush studio album by far. Absolute perfection from Show Don't Tell to Available Light. I like Hemispheres a lot too.. but no contest here. There's some beautiful bass on Show dont tell

That "crummy" title track is still better than the WHOLE Presto album No. The second side is stronger than the first side of Hems. And that second side saves the album from being overshadowed by Presto. Side one is great. But not perfect. Presto is fun. Side one of Hems is excellent, but flip me I would rather play Caress Of Steel (a much better album overall).

I give you respect for giving your true opinion! Thank you! Don't get me wrong, Hemispheres is a great album. This isn't me declaring war on those who adore it so. It just lost a lot of its appeal for me after I discovered Yes. I really, truly love Rush but they did not create the best sidelong songs, aside from 2112 which is just so iconic and beautiful.
