About to blow some minds on here because I love the songs everyone hates:

Rush: "Here Again"

Fly by Night: By-Tor and the Snow Dog

Caress of Steel: I Think Im Going Bald

2112: Tears

A Farewell to Kings: Madrigal

Hemispheres: Cygnus X-1 Book II (Took me years to even like the song, except for the epic finale)

Permanent Waves: "Freewill"

Moving Pictures: "YYZ"

Signals: "The Weapon"

Grace Under Pressure: "Red Lenses"

Power Windows: "Territories"

Hold Your Fire: "High Water"

Presto: "Superconductor"

Roll The Bones: "Where's my Thing?"

Test for Echo: "Dog Years" (Easiest choice by far)

Vapor Trails: "Freeze"

Snakes and Arrows: "Spindrift"

Clockwork Angels: "BU2B2"

This was INCREDIBLY hard to do, and most of these songs listed I really like. Except for Dog Years of course

Just to add a little commentary, My choices from FBN, COS, 2112, AFTK, Signals, and p/g are the ONLY songs from those albums I don't care much for. On the other hand, Presto, RTB, TFE, VT, S&A there were quite a few to choose from.

Time Stand Still????? I don't understand that at all. I think it's easily the best song in the album; such a perfect marriage of music and lyrics.

Everyone has their own tastes… IMO it is a very plain, bland, whiny song. Probably the most overrated RUSH song ever. Seems like they play it on every friggin tour, while I would much rather hear Prime Mover, Lock and Key, Open Secrets or Mission. (Or better yet, something from the first 5 albums instead!). To be honest though, I really should have called it a tie between Time Stand Still and Tai Shan. Again, just my opinion and naturally lots of folks will disagree.

I've always thought of Time Stand Still as affirming, not whiny.

While it was resurrected for the Time Machine Tour, Time Stand Still was not played on Clockwork Angels (Force 10), Snakes and Arrows live (Mission), Snakes and Arrows (Mission), R30 (Force 10), Vapor Trails, or T4E (Force 10),

When I've seen it live, it's been very well-received, as it speaks to the passing of time among long-time friends.

Rush - In the Mood (only because I think the lyrics are cheesy and it was overplayed early in their career)

Fly By Night - Best I Can

Caress of Steel - I Think I'm Going Bald (Side note: I don't consider Panacea is a song, it's just part of FOL)

2112 - Tears

A Farewell to Kings - Madrigal (although I like Madrigal, AFTK is strong throughout)

Hemispheres - Circumstances (another album where I like all the songs a lot, but if I had to choose...)

Permanent Waves - Entre Nous

Moving Pictures - YYZ

Signals - Chemistry (This is another tough one, I could have gone with Digital Man or Losing It. I like all those tracks though)

Grace Under Pressure - Red Lenses

Power Windows - Mystic Rhythms

Hold Your Fire - Second Nature (Tai Shan is just fine, it's never bugged me)

Presto - Hand Over Fist

Roll the Bones - Face Up

Counterparts - Speed of Love (Could have chosen a lot of songs, I'm not too into Counterparts)

Test for Echo - Half the World (ditto)

Vapor Trails - Peaceable Kingdom

Snakes & Arrows - Workin Them Angels

Clockwork Angels - Wish Them Well

Here Again is only good because its Rush showing what they would give later on in their career, I think its pretty plodding personally. Then again, im not too crazy about their debut album—and absolutely obsessed with everything after

I don't think it is anything at all like anything they've done later in their career. Actually, I consider it to be the only "bluesy" song they've ever done and like it quite a bit.

Tom Sawyer is really a great song (IMO). The only "bad" thing about it is how ridiculously much more attention it gets than other Rush songs that are also great, and in some cases better songs.
