spock Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I've always loved smart lyrics and most Rush songs have more than one "layer" - some universal truth - you know what I mean. I think I love Wish Them Well because it takes me right back to Something for Nothing and Anthem. Simple ROCK with a straightforward point.

NYM86 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I like it because it's the youngest that Geddy has sounded in a long time.

av450 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Aside from the garden, these are the best lyrics on the album and the best he's written in a long time imo.

rushgoober Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Great uplifting lyrics with a seriously positive message combined with a damn catchy rock song. Thumbs up!
Mr. Not Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Probably my favorite song on the album at this point.
Mika Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 3 2012, 10:46 PM) Great uplifting lyrics with a seriously positive message combined with a damn catchy rock song. Thumbs up! I agree! Great song, and the first that stood out for me on CA! I've been a bit confused about the dislike for WTW that's been bandied about on here by some people, but to each their own, I guess. I'm glad other people are speaking up about their love for this song! And Geddy does sound good singing this - I particulary like in the line "People who judge without a measure of mercy" how Geddy sings 'mercy'. He sounds strong! I admit, too, that I was confused about "even though you're going to hell" (Why am I going to hell? What have I done?!) until I realized it was "going through hell"! Gosh, I could say good things about this song all day!

treeduck Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 QUOTE Know Why I Love WTW? Because it reminds you of Jim Kirk and bones? You green-blooded hobgoblin!
Bangster of Goats Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Yup, I knew it would be one of my favorites from the moment I first heard the first 30-second teaser clip.
spock Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 I never troll, And, yes, I love WTW because it's logical to do so...
lifeson90 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 oh i understand your enthusiasm but no way on earth can you compare WTW with something for nothing they poles apart in quality

Owen Hardy Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I've said it before here, this song will be a barn-burner live. this song IS an anthem (and I don't mean the "prior" anthem). the vocals are so soaring. fantastic!
manders Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I really like this song as well. It puts me in a good mood whenever I listen to it.
