  1. Hold Your Fire Permanent Waves Power Windows Signals Caress of Steel
  2. Cinderella Man. It's really easy to play and the outro is always really fun. The duel Guitar/ bass part rocks
  3. could be possible for geddy to sing the songs lower without tuning the guitars down too?
  4. TBE is boring but MD was great live, I hope they keep it
  5. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Oct 24 2012, 11:11 PM) I voted for "Carnies", but with all due respect... ...here's a picture of The Riffmaster, http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-su53ihaOJxo/T5C6ZUuCDVI/AAAAAAAAACY/wcbr8u4lVyI/s1600/ti.jpg Alex sure looked different back then
  6. The 80's and hemispheres are his best tones. The stuff he did on PoW and HYF is so different than his 70's guitar work
  7. QUOTE (pfrushfan0122 @ Oct 20 2012, 06:38 PM) Call me a loser/no-lifer but I kept track of all of the Rush references I could find throughout the novel. It found it quite good, but I was expecting a little more from the last chapter with "The Garden," but honestly I don't know what I could have been expecting(if that makes any sense). Overall, it's very good, a bit redundant and the references can be seen from a mile a way sometimes, but it is a good compliment to the album. I don't know if this counts as a spoiler, sorry if it does.... Anyway here is my list of what song/album references I found: . . . . . . . Bravado Subdivisions Big Money Cold Fire Dog Years Time Stand Still Stick It Out Roll The Bones Presto Animate Freewill One Little Victory Tom Sawyer Spindrift Far Cry Dreamline Natural Science Xanadu Limelight Force Ten Malignant Narcissism Nobody's Hero Vapor Trail Cut To The Chase Grace Under Pressure All of the CA album, obviously. If anyone else has kept track, feel free to compare and let me know! He says prime mover at one point

But Im sure she is talented which goes a long way in my book. I didn't know other people said butter face too lol
  9. I've only been to one other rush concert but the crowd seemed really into it than usual. Geddy soundEd surprisingly good too
  10. QUOTE (Powderfinger @ Oct 10 2012, 12:09 AM) Madrigal. If you think you don't like it try listening to it while playing the original Legend of Zelda on NES. It'll change your mind. I did this around 2 weeks ago with Ocarina of time and thought the same thing
  11. I found a Carnies tab http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/r/rush/carnies_tab.htm

Maybe she should breathe on Neil...... Talk about skintight leggings!!! Tightest I've ever seen! Attracting the wrong kind of attention if you know what I mean...it's a show, not a show your ass show!!! I think it's disgusting, I'd never wear something that tight and revealing....What happened to the wardrobe police?? Yikes, cover up!.... I hope she never has to use the ladies room! Why? Because she must have to peel herself out of the leggings first! Homo detected. Btw, this chick is average, nothing special at all
  13. Although I love Counterparts-CA, they haven't changed very much musically in the past 18 years. So they do repeat their self, but not in a bad way
  14. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Oct 8 2012, 08:38 AM) I've been saying this for years. A concert to me is fleeting, whereas an album is forever, and what I've always wanted from them is more new music over everything else. Of course this will never happen, but we can dream. Alas, I fear this will be their last gasp after the 2nd leg regardless. Geddy's voice won't go another tour after 2013, and they'll never do an album without touring for the sheer love of creating new music, no matter how wonderful that sounds. I think that if they do the setlist like it is now and play all of their instrumentals, then they can last a little longer
  15. QUOTE (Jomboni @ Oct 5 2012, 01:06 PM) He can't sing the old stuff anymore. That's it! You guys are really overthinking this. this

QUOTE (tangy @ Oct 5 2012, 06:20 AM) QUOTE (Astroboy2112 @ Oct 3 2012, 10:57 PM) Isnt that worth something? not one goddamn thing............ quit your crying and go see if your doctor can cure your case of fanboi flu. if you think some dipshit poll is going to sway my opinion of this lackluster setlist you are wrong. strong avatar to bitchiness ratio

    Last rush album

If it is, I don't see a more fitting song than the garden to end their career.
  18. No. We should make them win by a landslide to make an impression, rather than coming 11th or something

QUOTE (goose @ Sep 30 2012, 10:25 AM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Sep 29 2012, 09:14 PM) QUOTE (goose @ Sep 29 2012, 05:39 PM) QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Sep 29 2012, 12:21 PM) As is Caress of Steel since I don't think anyone really knows what it's supposed to mean. Fingers on strings. See them bow there heads to die, thought I read somewhere meant head on the chopping block... La guillotine claims her bloody prize. Which as it turned out to be, Rush really stuck there necks out on this one, close to self inflicted career suicide. btw.. love this album it gets my vote as coolest title Farewell second which the cover to me as a Pink Floyd Animals Industrial vibe to it. Kings does have a great cover! After 4 years, I still don't know what caress of steel is supposed to mean
  20. QUOTE (earth2112shine @ Sep 30 2012, 03:30 AM) QUOTE (Astroboy2112 @ Sep 10 2012, 12:34 AM) I dont believe the whole "they're not playing 70's songs cuz Geddy cant sing it" explanation. They are playing working man as well as Temples. Ged sang Circumstances & Bangkok on the S&A tour. I believe the real reason is the LYRICS. They picked songs that best suited the concept of Clockwork Angels. All the songs being played deal with social issues, humanism, man vs machine, etc and match the themes explored on CA and it's novel. I think this whole show is ONE big concept show. Poster Dayglow explained really well on another thread. You better believe that before it's all said and done they will play 2112 in it's entirety in a future tour. It's just that some of those songs old fans want dont fit the themes of CA and what they are triying to say TODAY. Excellent, well said !! Geddy has said that They can't play a farewell to kings anymore because he can't sing it without hurting his voice
  21. QUOTE (Thunder Bay Rush @ Sep 22 2012, 08:33 AM) Here is a full concert (audio only, alas!) from '79. I think this is the band at its peak live, that or possibly the next tour, permanent Waves. Check this out and prepared to piss your pants, especially if you're an old fart like me who "was there man!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ebWw18HF7A bonar achieved
  22. QUOTE (jymyben @ Sep 22 2012, 11:36 AM) been with rush since 73 when the first record came out... got to finally see them in 81, and havent missed a tour since... this is my favorite rush setlist of all the yrs i have seen them... why? because it isnt full of the same songs i have been hearing live since 81, it is a fresh set, with lots of deep cuts... i think i would have been given the middle finger more if i went to a show with the same ole same ole set, heavy on moving pictures/permanent waves era songs... the songs are fresh, the lightening/screen images are fresh and even neil has a new drum solo for this tour... i have seen two shows on the tour, and everyone i went to the shows with, or hooked up with after loved the current setlist... rush is evolving and breaking out of the mold... too bad many of their fans are unable to do the same... peace I thought the first album came out in 74
  23. Wow he really does sound good. I hope they record for a dvd soon
