Best Solo In The Synth Era

That's a bit tough. There are so many great solos. The Analog Kid, Between the Wheels, Emotion Detector, Marathon, The Big Money, etc. People thinks that Alex took a back seat during the Synth Era, but his solos are beyond amazing. I'm really crazy about The Big Money right now, so I'll go with that one. I'm including the build up to the solo with that, though. That build up gives me chills and makes me feel good at the same time. That's powerful.

Interesting that you mention Emotion Detector and Open Secrets. Two fantastic solos that were imo the best one of each of their respective albums. Both were part of trend at the time where the best solo on a given album was not played live. Also include Chain Lightening and Cut to the Chase.

For your question, I'd go with Emotion Detector, then Between The Wheels and Open Secrets.

Cant even wrap my head around this. Too hard for me to choose. Alex isnt the best guitar player in the world, but he's so good at writing what fits the songs.

Id have to go back and listen to them all again. Havent listened to much synth era stuff in a long time.
