Hearing "Anthem" live in 2015. It's the first Rush song I heard due to a fellow student spinning "All the World's a Stage" in music class, circa 1979.

  1. Completely agree. I'm still in the state of "I can't believe it." Damn.....
  2. Watched my bootleg copy/video of Rush at the Hollywood Bowl. Snakes and Arrows tour. At one point, Alex gives the slash across the throat gesture. Apparently something went wrong.
  3. Yeah...for me, this comes across as "look at me!" Not cool.
  4. My buddy caught a broken stick that Neil threw out to the audience in Oakland, CA during the Roll the Bones tour. He had it ripped out of his hands.
  5. I remember that in the mid to late 80s, the rumor was that Geddy had throat cancer and that is why he wasn't singing so high anymore.
  6. Nice! I remember my mom drove me to Rainbow Records when "Signals" came out. I ran in and bought the cassette. When I got home I raced into my bedroom and put it on my little Pioneer stereo. After the first listening I must confess I was upset. I was like... "Where the hell is the guitar?" "Neil's drumming is more basic!" I was so mad! But then eventually I fell in love with the record. The lyrics of Analog Kid hit me hard. I was at that point in my life where I didn't know what to do with my future. I figured it out.
  7. As a kid, I delivered The Seattle Post Intelligecer via bicycle. My handlebars were loaded with newspapers. I remember riding my bicycle in the early morning while listening to Signala on my knock off walkman.
  8. How do you know Neil/his family/Rush extended, if I might ask (and I realize the contradiction given this particular thread, so I understand if you decline to answer)? I'm very sorry for your personal loss and the roller coaster you've been on (per your posts). Legit question. I would like to know too.
  9. Spirit of Radio during Packers/Seahawk game. About time they changed it up.
  10. This one. When I was a teenager, I had the inner sleeve of the Farewell to Kings LP pinned up on my bedroom wall. That image of Neil was in it.
