invisibleairwaves Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 EVERY band sounds terrible on those shows. I sure hope you aren't judging them on that one performance.
D3strukt Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Really? REALLY? Soundgarden are pretty much ONE OF THE Best 90's bands out there.

raygun47 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I saw them a few times in the '90's and they were hit or miss. I saw them open for Neil Young...it was Blind Melon/Soundgarden/Neil Young, and they were great that night. When they headlined clubs in Chicago...a little less great. The night they opened for Neil I remember thinking it was a bad idea for him to have an act that good open. He set me straight with his set pretty quick. Neil was huge.

librarian Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Who cares if they were awful or not, I just want to stare at Mr. Cornell.... BTW - didn't see it...

That is not really saying much I know, but the early 90s had some good stuff. Soundgarden, Rage against, Nirvana.

I bought Core but only Dead and Bloated grabbed my attention.
Rendclaw Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I have an STP concert I DVR'ed off of Palladia, and they still have it.. Too bad Weiland got on heroin, because they never should have broken up.
tangy Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 i was never a huge fan of soundgarden but the first couple of discs were strong. apparently Ged thinks highly of their drummer......
Rendclaw Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Yeah, since he got him to play on his solo album, and that wasn't a bad idea.

That whole era was not for me, didn't like anything outside of Alice In Chains. I was more the Pantera, Sevendust ,Machine Head type bands

treeduck Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Where do 90s grunge bands stand in the American DJ lexicon nowadays, have they reached the point where they're referred to as classic rock yet?
