Earthshine
John Entwistle. He also influenced both Chris and Geddy.
ColdFireYYZ
Usually I'd say Geddy but because I've been listening to a lot of Yes lately, and I'm seeing them tonight, I went with Squire. All 3 of them are great though.
hobo73
all 3 are great, but I say Geddy

Babycat
I know this poll's like any other "Who's better..." poll, but would you believe this is my first attempt at creating one? It took me months to figure it out!
Tommy Sawyer
Chris Squire is 'better', but they are all awesome. I personally love both Geddy's and Chris's prog basslines, but I would say Chris is more skilled. Just my opinion.

RUSHHEAD666
Hey Babycat! Nice bass poll! I remember comparing John to Geddy above in the Rush Section. I love Geddy and he rules, but I have to stick to my guns. The Ox all the way! Signed, "My Wife"

JCfromWA
Oracle has spoken. Check out Victor Wooten playing 'Amazing Grace': The man is bass incarnate. By the way, Geddy is the "best" of those three. Edited July 9, 2011 by JCfromWA
Earthshine
Met the Ox back in 1998. Coolest bassist ever. Nicest dude too.

PhilCastro
QUOTE (Earthshine @ Jul 8 2011, 04:03 PM) John Entwistle. He also influenced both Chris and Geddy. This. but there really is no point because having Geddy a choice on a Rush forum isn't really fair... Definitely gonna be biased
Mr. Krinkle
I voted for Geddy although I was ready to vote Squire. Entwistle might have influenced them but is not comparable. He has some memorable basslines of that late sixties and early seventies period though. Squire is miles apart from Geddy as well. It depends on what you like from a bassist both in terms of style, sound and composition. Geddy probably can't play Gates of Delirium like Squire and Squire probably can't play Freewill like Geddy. Their styles aren't comparable that much either, other than the fact that they both play for two of the biggest prog bands ever and have both used Rickenbacker and Fender Jazz Basses and also use Moog Taurus pedals and both have stellar vocal abilities.
