On November 6 go vote and then pick up Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest. I've been waiting for this one for years. It's from 1986, the last tour. DVD, Blu-Ray, CD. Whoop!

By some accounts, Freddie's death hit him the hardest. And after the tribute gig, he didn't want hand nor part in any version of Queen without Freddie. I believe he had a hard few years coping with depression as well.

 

Deacy was always a reluctant rock star anyway. I love Deacy.

I see your point: he couldn't see Queen as Queen without Freddie. I can only assume that his depression was caused by Freddie's death. I miss Freddie too...

So I saw Hungarian Rhapsody in a theater last year. It was pretty awesome. That band could really put on a show.

 

Saw it on the big screen last year too. Awesome. It was released as Live In Budapest on VHS in 1987 and I must have played it 100 times. Super performance.

$170 for Madison Square Garden.

 

I may have dismissed this out right if it hadn't been for Hatchetaxe&saw's post.

 

It will be good to see Brian and Roger play live once again.

I found this song out today, and also its follower on Queen II, Nevermore. AWESOME!!! These two songs are "so over the top that the top is a dot to them!"

Brian confirms "new" Queen album in 2014.

 

Freddie - John - Brian - Roger, from recordings from 1980 to 1990.

 

Brian confirmed title as "Queen Forever".

 

It has duets with Rod Stewart, David Bowie and possibly Michael Jackson. (All recorded in the 1980s)

 

Brian compares the new album to "Made in Heaven".

 

If this is, in fact, true, I will be one happy Queen fan, as I happen to think "Made in Heaven" is a fantastic Queen album.

I owe it to Queen to listen to more of their stuff and this time get into albums rather than just select songs.

Good idea. A lot of the Queen singles tend to be overplayed, but are better when heard in the context of an album. Queen were a great album band (particularly in the 70's) and a lot of their 'deep cut' album tracks are as good as, if not better than, the singles.

 

For an album I'd recommend Sheer Heart Attack. It's a favourite of mine, and quite a lot of other members of this forum.

Also, I don't think Brian May recorded one bad guitar solo. Every single one of his solos was perfect for its song.

Very accurate. Good stuff on that album. Another one of my favorites is The Miracle. Not sure if its underrated, but its a great one, top to bottom.
