I would post a picture, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out on this site in particular. I am a smart person, i really am, but...what am I missing here???

 

A picture hosting site? I've been using Photobucket for over 15 years now.....free too.

 

I just have my stuff on iPhoto...there's no way to just drag and drop?

 

No, your photos have to be hosted on a public web server in order for them to be available to be posted here. With the exception of your avatar pic you can't just upload a file to TRF itself.

 

Gotcha. Does Flickr count?

 

It does. Just make sure the photo's privacy is set to "public", then paste the url of the photo itself (as opposed to the url of the page, which Flickr likes to provide).

I'm still doing something wrong. Frustrating.

 

Are you posting from a computer or a mobile device? There are different ways to post photos depending on which platform you are using.

 

If posting from a computer/laptop:

Begin composing your post/reply.

Click the square photo icon in the toolbar above the reply box (second row, middle, looks like a green square)

Paste the URL of the photo, including the "http..." part. Make sure the URL ends in a .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png.

Click "OK"

Your photo should show up in the post you are composing

 

If posting from a mobile device (phone/tablet):

There is no shortcut so you must manually type in the code as shown below

[img=paste photo URL here]

(Those "img" tags require the square brackets on either side, and the slash is required on the second tag to close the set.)

A valid photo post will look something like this

[img=http://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/slice_rush_01.jpg]

And will show up like this

I did! We bassists have to keep tabs on each other (but not in a creepy way lol).

What type of bass is that? Anything over $700 or isn't a Ric I usually have no idea what it is.

 

Looks like an Alembic to me, but I can't see the logo on the head well enough to say for sure.

Didn't Greg Lake play one of those?

 

Yeah and John Entwistle. They definitely had to have strong backs. Beautiful instruments and impeccably made.

 

So did John Paul Jones, starting in I believe 1977- just the last couple of years of Zeppelin's time together.

 

Yeah that's true. Forgot about him.

 

Also the Bassist for Dixie Dregs, Andy West, iirc...that's when I first heard of Alembic basses. I was all about Rickenbacher 4001S and Fender Jazz Because in the mid 60s, that was what Paul McCartney used, and appropriately, Geddy also in the mid '70s. Didn't know about Entwistle or Lake, although I loved BOTH Bands. Also, I read Paul Mc Cartney played a Wal 5 string bass within the last few years....

I have a Roland TK4-P and like it a lot. You can probably get one now for like $500 tops.

I've liked Roland electric drums since the mid 80s, my BFF had a set in his basement for recording purposes....

It looks like you dyed it dark red, which is my favorite unnatural hair color ;) hawt!

 

Feel free to return to TOST whenever you'd like to... The thread has changed quite a lot, but it's still semi-decent... I swear!

Haha yes I have too many amazing friends and family in my life to keep my sane.

 

For the one fleshly sister I have had to say goodbye too I am surrounded by many fantastic friends.

 

I love my life...bad days and good days!

 

I'm so dedicated to my scarves I wore that in very hot weather!

He's my brother in all but blood. He has been my rock this year. Couldn't have gotten through the last six months without him. Honoured to be compared to him!

 

And yes I am happy. Doesn't change the nature of my illness but at the end of the day my issues do not affect my deeply ingrained positive spirit.

I'm glad you have someone like that in your support system. Yay about the positive attitude. Its one of the best things to have in this life.

 

Definitely. Depression is something I now fully accept but I also know it's as much a lie as it is real. So you just have to keep pushing past it.

 

And I am blessed with a good life. Nothing is perfect. You always have to give out. You can't keep taking in.

NAH!!! I got a thing for faces. Always have....names? FUGETTABOUTIT! But Faces? This guy doens't even 'tickle my brain' as looking REMOTELY like Daniel Radcliffe. You can TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!!
