That was one of my favorite shows back when it was still on prime time. Loads of good episodes in there but I tuned out when Florence left.

The best episodes were the earlier ones when Florence still wore her maid uniform and George's annoying mother was a regular cast.

Their one pretty neighbor is Lenny Kravitz' mom. Her name is Roxie Roker, but I forget if that's her name in the series or in real life. She is their neighbor married to a white gentleman that George doesn't like!

Her show name: Helen Willis.

I feel old even though I know I'm not really---Roxy Roker was the grandmother of the cute, little, now 28 year old Zoe Kravitz.

On a RELATED side note, Roxy was the first cousin of Al Roker

The rain has finally stopped and the sun is out. Also, a few Swallowtail butterflies are hanging around. :sundog: Edited by troutman

Photobucket finally decided to start working for me again....that's why the colorful bananas have not been in evidence the past few days....

Watching the Lad and his summer buddy set off fireworks. For two weeks every summer, the two of them get together and live like Tom and Huck...completely feral and free of rules. I love that they have this friendship.

My sister and niece came to visit me yesterday and I probably had the best day I've ever had with them. We went to the marina for ice cream and sat a boat cafe for some cold refreshments, looking out at the bay in the sun.

After that we went to the Aros arts museum which turned out to be a very engaging experience for my four year old niece. She really took it all in. She's in the process of learning to rely on other than her mother, so after a few hours she wanted me to carry her around, which of course melts my heart. Some of the installations scared her because they were in dark rooms (she's a bit scared of the dark and has some troubling dreams), but still she would curiously agree when I proposed that I would carry her, and we'd leave the room if she wanted. So in a safe setting she seems willing to challenge herself. You can tell I'm proud of her, can't you? ;)

I didn't start using ProMark sticks until after I found out they were Neil's brand...and I used them, upside down....The sticks we used in HS band were as big around at the usual end as ProMarks were at the 'Butt' end. We were taught field drumming by a University of Michigan Band member in '75, [conventional grip] and he wrote a few marching cadences for when we were in parades and such.

The new pad is taking shape. All of the furniture is in place, so I can start installing the audio visual equipment. I did two loads of laundry today and am actually cooking supper here tonight. Me so horny.

Yesterday was our 29th wedding anniversary. I don't have a clue why she puts up with my quirks, and I'm quirky AF, but I am eternally grateful.
