Name a Rush song where...

Scars

Just a fun little questionnaire I came up with

1) ...You like both the lyrics and the music.

2) ...You like the music but dislike the lyrics.

3) ...You like the lyrics but dislike the music.

4) ...You dislike both the lyrics and the music.

I'll start:

1) Subdivisions

2) Dog Years (maybe not "dislike" but it's so unfitting)

3) High Water (not the best example, but the first that came to mind)

4) Red Lenses 062802puke_prv.gif

I like about 95% of the lyrics they recorded from Fly By Night up to about GuP (first album is basically typical rock n roll lyrics, I could take em or leave em either way). Neil had a great knack for making the lyrics fit the music spot on. The fantasy-oriented lyrics can get a bit childish after the 20,000th time but it was all part of the magic that was the '70's.

From Power Windows up to now, I can stomach about 30% of the lyrics, the rest, well, in my opinion Neil seems like he thinks he has become some kind of voice for the people (we hold on, we seem to be like, human nature is like this..) and I dont agree with alot of his lyrics in the last 20+ years.

Musically, I absolutley love everything from the S/T to about Signals. Everything since, varies from very cool to above average but I pretty much like all the music those 3 guys have ever created. In the melody and originality department, I think the well ran pretty much dry somewhere around Presto but they can still rock and they are still awesome live.

just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less....
