I want you to think of bands who had 3 albums that would be classified as that band's best work,

I was a bit thrown by this statement. Did you mean for us to put down what people in general think of as the best three of a band's work that are back to back to back, or what we subjectively thought fit that description?

I did my list based on more what people think in general as opposed to my own opinion.

Either /OR both are good............but mostly what you subjectively think

This is a cool thread! trink39.gif

I will try not to repeat what anyone else has already posted, but that is probably inevitable. There really are not that many bands who have done this.

Here are mine:

The Who

Tommy

Who's Next

Quadrophenia

Genesis

Nursery Cryme

Foxtrot

Selling England By The Pound

Rainbow

Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow

Rising

Long Live Rock 'n' Roll

That's all folks! 653.gif

The Led Zeppelin additions are good, but I would argue for Zoso, Houses, Physical Graffiti instead of III, Zoso, and Houses.

Have to agree. As much as I adore III, it must end on Physical - which for me is their crowning achievement.

I thought of doing them, and with those 3 albums even. I'm just not sure if I prefer Waterloo Lily or For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night...

I tried REM, but I couldn't do it. Unlike most bands, my favorites from them are too spread out (Murmur, Lifes Rich Pageant, Automatic).

Bowie - Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane

Siouxsie and the Banshees - Hyaena, Tinderbox, Peepshow

Overkill - Under the Influence, Years of Decay, Horrorscope

Kreator - Pleasure to Kill, Terrible Certainty, Extreme Aggression

Gwar - Scumdogs of the Universe, America Must Be Destroyed, This Toilet Earth

Lots of good choices already mentioned here. But I don't recall seeing any Ryche, so here goes...

QUEENSRYCHE

RAGE FOR ORDER - OPERATION: MINDCRIME - EMPIRE - PROMISED LAND

Any combo from those works for me! 1022.gif

Also...

DEF LEPPARD

HIGH N DRY - PYROMANIA - HYSTERIA

Yes. Rush is Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures. Hands down their best run of albums, proving how much Rush sucks.

You now offically get one of these
