Here's how i rank these:

  • 1.Working Man (an all-time Rush classic)
2.New World Man (why isn't this tune more appreciated?)
    3.Cinderella Man
4.Digital Man (how the hell is this winning?)

Because it came out in 1982 but still sounds cool and modern, has one of the best basslines in Rush's catalogue (Alex's guitar solo is great too), is groovy as hell, and has clever lyrics.

All of which also applies to New World Man (minus the guitar solo).

I think Digital Man has had a resurgence in popularity among Rush fans since it was brougt back on the S&A Tour. I gained a better appreciation for it, but it still falls short of the other three. Working Man is easily the best in my book, even though I like their early Eighties stuff as a whole better than their debut album.

Cinderella Man

The version on Different Stages from '78 blows the doors off the studio version, and is , IMO, one of the boys best recorded moments EVER. All 3 of them are just tearing it up on this version. Brutal.
