JohnnyBlaze
As I've said countless times: There are no chick flicks. There are only good, bad, or ok films. The Color Purple: good The Bridges of Madison County: okay Titanic: bad My bro's wife thinks he's gay because he likes The Wizard of Oz. I didn't get why she thought that. I told her that (if anything) it's more of a childhood nostalgia thang than a film to jokingly accuse someone with. She then condescendingly asked me, "So, you like it too then?" I answered, "Yeah, I s*** ***k too."

I think there's probably many gays who ARE "Wizard of Oz" fans, although the film has more mass appeal than JUST gays. The gay fans of the film fall into that large sub-genre of homosexual men who like musicals, Judy Garland, and Garland's daughter Liza Minelli. I don't see anything gay here. I mean it had Robert Preston in it. Actually, I was raised on musicals because my mom directed them for our community. Every year she did a summer outdoor musical around the fourth of July. She would decide which one to do in January and buy an 8 track of it and listen to it in the car over and over again. So, needless to say I know the words to many of the older musicals. My dad even liked them and he played college football. So, you don't have to be gay to enjoy musicals. It's one of those unfortunate stereotypes that probably keeps a lot of sexually insecure heterosexual men from admitting that they like them. rushfanNlv
QUOTE (rushgoober @ Feb 7 2010, 07:54 PM) QUOTE (rushfanNlv @ Feb 7 2010, 12:48 PM) I get the same thing because I like to watch 13 going on 30. It's only because Jennifer Garner's so freakin hot. It's totally ok to watch chick flicks to watch hot babes. Why do you think I'm such a huge fan of America's Next Top Model - because I love the modeling industry? OMG! My son and I watch that show too and for the same reason. He got me into it. However I get to hold the remote and mute the TV when Tyra is speaking. She erks the hell out of me.
