"76 Trombones?"

Man, Wendy stormed out of the living room because she hated "The Music Man" on Blu-Ray tonight.
I saw the play when I was a kid, and I have always liked the movie too.
I knew that Shirley Jones was the lead "librarian" in this picture.  Always liked "The Partridge Family" too even though I'm a Brady Bunch Whore.
I must be a dork, but I sure as hell am not G@Y.

I love "The Music Man" with Robert Preston and Buddy Hackett.

Am I alone?

Wendy is 36, and I'm 42 next week.  Is a six year gap that wide apart?

Trouble ahead......

You mean you regularly f@ck her and she still thinks you're gay?? tongue.gif

I like lots of films the average guy probably wouldn't, such as The Color Purple, The Bridges Of Madison County, and Titanic. Dig 'em all. I just deep dick my wife twice as long and hard after watchin' one so she never questions it....

(word)

You know, I'm far from a prude.

I'm an openminded sort of person as well.

But that post disgusts me. If I were your wife, unsure.gif I'd be very angry.

Seems we could do without that level of "street" talk.

Word.

Not me. I thought it was stupid that he began to swim back for Wilson, risking his life to "save" Wilson. Okay, okay, I understand that Wilson was the "friend" who kept him sane for years, and he had some kind of deep psychological connection to Wilson, but... at some point you just have to say, "It's only a volleyball! I'm not risking my life for a volleyball."

I've never cried during a musical though - Earl is definitely gay. yes.gif yes.gif no.gif yes.gif

Let's be fair, guys. Earl never said he cries during The Music Man, only that he LIKES it.

But if he does indeed cry during musicals? I bet his wife is right about him being light on his feet.

True he didn't say that. It's unfair to say he's gay just because he likes the music man. Homosexual tendencies, however, cannot be ruled out. no.gif

Oh man! You guys are hilarious!

I never thought this thread would turn out this way!

True! I didn't cry during "The Music Man" I simply liked it!

I am very gay actually, hence I'm a happy fella! tongue.gif

I did tear up at the end of "Rudy."

Every grown man probably teared up in that one.

When I was a kid, "Brian's Song" and "E.T." got me and so did the very end of "Close Encounters Of The Nerd Kind!"

And men aren't allowed to like all-singing all-dancing musicals. Sorry Earl, you need to turn in your "He-Man Woman Hater's Club" membership card at the door. Put down that copy of "Oklahoma!" and give my regards to Broadway, wouldya?

LOL!!!

Classic!!!

I have failed yet again. May I please have the address to mail in my "He-Man Woman Hater Club" membership card?

As I've said countless times: There are no chick flicks. There are only good, bad, or ok films.

The Color Purple: good

The Bridges of Madison County: okay

Titanic: bad

My bro's wife thinks he's gay because he likes The Wizard of Oz. I didn't get why she thought that. I told her that (if anything) it's more of a childhood nostalgia thang than a film to jokingly accuse someone with. She then condescendingly asked me, "So, you like it too then?" I answered, "Yeah, I s*** ***k too." biggrin.gif

I think there's probably many gays who ARE "Wizard of Oz" fans, although the film has more mass appeal than JUST gays. The gay fans of the film fall into that large sub-genre of homosexual men who like musicals, Judy Garland, and Garland's daughter Liza Minelli. laugh.gif

I don't know why your wife would think you were gay. I don't see anything gay here. I mean it had Robert Preston in it. smile.gif

Actually, I was raised on musicals because my mom directed them for our community. Every year she did a summer outdoor musical around the fourth of July. She would decide which one to do in January and buy an 8 track of it and listen to it in the car over and over again. So, needless to say I know the words to many of the older musicals. My dad even liked them and he played college football. So, you don't have to be gay to enjoy musicals. It's one of those unfortunate stereotypes that probably keeps a lot of sexually insecure heterosexual men from admitting that they like them.

I get the same thing because I like to watch 13 going on 30. unsure.gif

It's only because Jennifer Garner's so freakin hot. yes.gif

It's totally ok to watch chick flicks to watch hot babes. Why do you think I'm such a huge fan of America's Next Top Model - because I love the modeling industry? tongue.gif

OMG! My son and I watch that show too and for the same reason. He got me into it. However I get to hold the remote and mute the TV when Tyra is speaking. She erks the hell out of me.
