nic2112nic
QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Dec 1 2008, 06:55 PM) I wasnt able to watch this game as it wasnt carried in my area and I couldnt make it to the local bar to watch it. I was watching the scores and then was watching the ESPN gamecast of it. At 10-10 late in the second quarter, I actually left the house right before it seemed NE would score (1st and goal at the 9, I think) but then came back later and it was still 10-10? I read it was a shanked field goal but that surprised me a bit considering its NE at home and the Steelers just seem to have a knack for collapsing late, especially after grabbing some momentum. And then 23 more unanswered points - I was in some disbelief. ESPN didnt show too much of the highlights but from what I did catch there were some decent throws by Ben and the defense came up big, forcing more turnovers and capitalizing on them. Did anyone see the absolute crusher on Wes Welker? That was some hit boy. I'm glad I managed to catch that match from all the way over here

mikerudamann
My wife and I were actually at the Steelers-Patriots game. She is the Steelers fan, by the way. I have both Romo and the Steelers defense in fantasy football. I benched Romo and I was definitely right on with that one. The D kicked ass today. kazzman
So... meaningless win to a meaningless game. Though the fact that it was 31-0 against the Browns makes it sweeter than it really is.
softfilter
QUOTE (kazzman @ Dec 28 2008, 11:37 PM)So... meaningless win to a meaningless game. Though the fact that it was 31-0 against the Browns makes it sweeter than it really is. The Browns vs The Steelers have been meaningless since the Learner Browns came back to the NFL in 1999. Fourth string scrub qb and a team that finished not able to score offensive touchdown since early November. It use to be a rivalry , but Cleveland has sucked for so long now(0-11?) against Pittsburgh. Dosen't have much excitement on this end. BUT I guess Steeler fans still get satisfaction from beating Cleveland. Same as Buckeye fans loved destroying Michigan this year even though Wolverines terrible five straight for Ohio State. PassTheAmmunition
Yet again I'm left scratching my head why your starting QB is in a position to be injured in Week 17 in a meaningless game. Fecking stupid.
theredtamasrule
With that O line it's a wonder Ben is still able to walk. Them boys better learn how to protect the pocket for more than, oh I don't know, 1 second before the QB is on his ass.

kazzman
Well, they could have signed Faneca at the amount of money he wanted (he had turned down every offer that they made to him). Problem with that is it would have given them very little cap space to work with, especially when they were trying to get Ben (along with Polumalu) signed for the long term. Luckily for Ben, the Steelers won't be playing for another two weeks so that gives him some time to recover from the concussion.
mikerudamann
Yeah, and the Steelers are getting Marvel Smith back this week I think. Max Starks can move over to the right side. Just in time for Ben Roethlisberger to recover from his concussion and be ready to go. You guys need to hope Smith can regain his form real quick like.
