  1. You know you're a Rush fan when you honestly believe that the people selling Rush merch at the show are manic Rush fans like yourself, purely because they are selling the stuff regardless of them having to work there no matter what band are playing

  5. Badfinger. Their management screwed them over big time
  6. I saw Kamelot when I went to see the support act Threshold at the Astoria in London. Needless to say I decided just to talk with the band memebers of Threshold than to watch Kamelot. They were much better than the headliner in my opinion
  7. "A Modern Myth" 30 Seconds To Mars Did we create a modern myth Did we imagine half of it What happened then, a thought for now Save yourself Save yourself The secret is out The secret is out To buy the truth And sell a lie The last mistake before you die So don't forget to breathe tonight Tonight's the last so say good-bye The secret is out [x4] Good-bye [x17]
  8. QUOTE (edgyspice @ Sep 3 2008, 03:51 AM) Hot to Trot (starring Bobcat Goldthwait and the voice of John Candy) and Robin Hood: Men in Tights spring immediately to mind. I find Robin Hood: Men in Tights not to be guilty at all! I thoroughly enjoyed it and have no shame!
  9. When youre weary, feeling small, When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all; Im on your side. when times get rough And friends just cant be found, Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. When youre down and out, When youre on the street, When evening falls so hard I will comfort you. Ill take your part. When darkness comes And pains is all around, Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Sail on silvergirl, Sail on by. Your time has come to shine. All your dreams are on their way. See how they shine. If you need a friend Im sailing right behind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind.
  10. QUOTE (Soni @ Jul 21 2008, 12:33 AM) So tonight I went through the entire TB saga (TB 1973, II, III, Millenium, 2003) and I have to admit, it's all brillant! Each album is flawlessly recorded and played. If you ask me in 100 years people will remember Mike for this collection of albums. The only "bad" thing I'd say it that The Millenium Bell is a great concept although it could have been better. I may have to do that sometime, I'm quite in the mood for some MO listening

Peter: "...You win this round, Lois..." Were you by any chance watching FG recently, say, tonight? (PS I just noticed you joined the forum on my bday! )
  14. Left a good job in the city, Workin for the man evry night and day, And I never lost one minute of sleepin, Worryin bout the way things might have been. Chorus: Big wheel keep on turnin, Proud mary keep on burnin, Rollin, rollin, rollin on the river. Cleaned a lot of plates in memphis, Pumped a lot of pain down in new orleans, But I never saw the good side of the city, til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen. Chorus Rollin, rollin, rollin on the river. If you come down to the river, Bet you gonna find some people who live. You dont have to worry cause you have no money, People on the river are happy to give. Chorus Rollin, rollin, rollin on the river. Rollin, rollin, rollin on the river. Rollin, rollin, rollin on the river.
  15. Close the door and take the stairs Up or down, Ups and downs Don't pretend you've never been there You kiss me like an overdramatic actor Who's starving for work With one last shot to make it happen You won the role, you've played your part You've been cordially invited But I'm not impressed And I'm definitely not excited Cause the film runs a shallow budget And the writer's subject script isn't any deeper So dive right in Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them. I won't buy in. Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? Don't quit 'til 47. Then we'll turn it up, and we'll play a little faster. Take back everything you ever said You never meant a word of it You never did Take back everything you said You never meant a word of it You never did She said, 'Alright, alright slow down' Oh no, oh no we won't Cause I regret everything that I said To ever make her feel like she was something special Or that she ever really mattered Or did she ever really matter? Hollywood hills and suburban thrills Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them I won't buy in Hollywood hills and suburban thrills Just don't count on this summer Don't quit 'til 47 Then we'll turn it up and we'll play a little faster Take back everything you ever said You never meant a word of it You never did Take back everything you said You never meant a word of it You never did I'm not sayin' that I'm not breakin' some hearts tonight, girl Oh, I'm not sayin' that I'm not breakin' some hearts tonight, girl Hollywood hills and suburban thrills we will take this time to do many things Hollywood hills and suburban thrills we will take this time to do many things Take back everything you ever said You never meant a word of it You never did Take back everything you said You never meant a god damn word of it You never did Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them. I won't buy in. Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them I won't buy in Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them. I won't buy in. Hollywood hills and suburban thrills, Hey you, who are you kidding? I'm not like them I won't buy in
  16. QUOTE (Lerxist @ Jul 9 2008, 12:20 AM) These long, epic songs that are being ripped on are musical journeys. They are not some casual listen as you're riding the escalator at Penny's. And remember..."the point of the journey is not to arrive." Personally, I like the longer "journeys". Spot on in my opinion!

  19. When they turn the pages of history When these days have passed long ago Will they read of us with sadness For the seeds that we let grow We turned our gaze From the castles in the distance Eyes cast down On the path of least resistance Cities full of hatred Fear and lies Withered hearts And cruel, tormented eyes Scheming demons Dressed in kingly guise Beating down the multitude And scoffing at the wise The hypocrites are slandering The sacred halls of Truth Ancient nobles showering Their bitterness on youth Can't we find The minds that made us strong Can't we learn To feel what's right and wrong Cities full of hatred Fear and lies Withered hearts And cruel, tormented eyes Scheming demons Dressed in kingly guise Beating down the multitude And scoffing at the wise Can't we raise our eyes And make a start Can't we find the minds To lead us closer to the Heart
  20. QUOTE (liddybuck01 @ Jul 6 2008, 02:46 PM) i love secret touch. love his voice on it. songs that drag for me are the ones with long solos. kind of like working man and by-tor and the snow dog. idk it just gets on my nerves after a while Except The Return Of The Prince. I could listen to that solo for aaages! I wish it was longer
  21. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jul 6 2008, 01:13 PM) QUOTE (TheRocinanteKid @ Jul 6 2008, 09:12 AM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jul 6 2008, 02:06 PM) "The Camera Eye" drags on too long. Don't make me write my essay on why The Camera Eye is long and repetitive again! You know, the song is over praised. If it was half its current length it might be a Rush classic. As is, it's just very good. And too long. I just listened to TCE through very good headphones at a high volume and I tell you that it sounded so..... epic! Sounded much better than when I usually listened to it ( and believe me, it still sounded great then!) Oh and Secret Touch does not deserve to even be mentioned in this thread
  22. QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ Jul 5 2008, 09:56 PM) "HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF.... AGAINST A MAN ATTACKING YOU WITH A BANANA!!!!" http://i.ytimg.com/vi/piWCBOsJr-w/default.jpg ^^^ Click for video I LOVE the way he shouts shut up to the group, his expression and the fact that at one point, Idle asked about a pointED stick
  23. QUOTE (Lady April @ Jul 2 2008, 06:11 PM) QUOTE (nic2112nic @ Jul 2 2008, 10:12 AM) "No-one is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle, even, and let me make myself perfectly clear, EVEN if they do say Jehovah..." http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/4766/film/lob/whistle.jpg That was the very first scene they filmed for the movie and John C was very pleased that day What an awesome scene So brilliant! How do they come up with that? I guess it takes Oxford and Cambridge educated men to come up with such comedy
