With how much the dude compares himself to Neil Peart, I was surprised there weren't any Rush albums on there. But still, props for Bowie and OK Computer. I haven't heard the Mr. Bungle or Jellyfish albums, but overall, not a bad list at all.

It's a classic record. The first song "Travolta" had to be changed because John threatened to sue the band for using his last name.

 

I saw Mr. Bungle open up for PRIMUS on New Year's Eve in 1989 I think. Mike Patton is a psycho but he is one talented cat. They wore animal masks on stage and Mike took a piss in his tennis shoe and drank it.

Mike Portnoy didn't mention Rush this time because I wrote him a letter and told him to quit being a Neil Peart clone and to come up with some of his own drum fills. He removed "Moving Pictures" out of his Top Ten for me.

All of this excitement about Dream Theater has made me throw in "Images And Words" right now. I sure am glad I give albums I love a nice long break because this is a GREAT RECORD.

 

I want your honest opinion DT FAN.

 

Through the years I have talked to several DT fans, mostly drummers who absolutely HATE Mike's snare sound on "Images And Words."

 

What do you think??

 

I don't care for it at all but hey it's the "Sign O' The Times."

 

Did it really take five years for Dream Theater to make this record?

 

As a matter of fact "Metropolis Part I" just kicked in. A great song but it's a perfect example to bring up about Mike's robotic snare drum machine sound.

Nice, Mike Patton jacked the DT thread, now there's something good about it. I love the guy. Mr. Bungle is classic, that's a given, but I love the first two Fantomas albums just as much.
