Worked from home during the AM today (took the PM off to deal with a few things) so that ment it was time to open up the moving box's and whatever came out would get listened to.  First out:

Mozart - The Horn Concertos.  This is a collection of Mozarts concertos, #'s 412, 495, 371, 447 & 417.  Good stuff.  Next your of the box:

CCR - Greatest Hits.  A 3 record collection of CCR's greatest hits.  Excellent.

I saw them open for Metallica last year. The most boring band I have ever seen live. They played great but that's it. They just stood there and played. Zero on stage charisma or crowd engagement. The singer did not move once from center stage. I know to win over a stadium crowd is tough when people aren't there to see you. But show some f***in passion for what you do instead of just robotically playing.

Both openers were pretty tough to get through. I didn't hate Greta, but I didn't remember anything beyond one song.

Damn.  That song is an all time classic.  Ah well.

Yeah it is

but a bit like Mick, I just find

it’s so ironic that

( especially being a hard core Toto fan ..

I even own their Dune soundtrack album ! ) despite being such a unique sounding single in it’s own right, it doesn’t represent at all Toto’s excellent AOR/Melodic Hard Rock catalogue.

I know this is also the case with a lot of Hard Rock bands whereby due to the record company releasing often what is the softest ballad from the album so that it get guaranteed radio air play, they become more well known for soft ballads or odd-ball tracks than their main body of hard rocking work.

Extreme - More than Words :puke:

Mr.Big - To be with you :puke:

I really try but I never click with Dio. Amazing voice but the songs...have yet to click with me.

It helps it you don’t mind the sometimes over referencing of ‘ Rainbows’

 in his lyrics 😉🤣

He's great, but I've never felt like a sense of I NEED TO HEAR EVERYTHING when I've listened to his works.

And my favourite version of Holy Diver is not his. It's KillSwitch Engage's.

But he's amazing, I get it. Maybe one day.

Oh awesome! Epica are the best female fronted metal band around atm. I love them dearly I hope they continue their hot streak!

And that's an excellent song!

I don't class Journey as an absolute favourite, but I do love Infinity as one of my all timer albums.

Saying that, I put Kansas on my list and I'm pretty sure I love Journey more.

I also forgot Savatage, Blue Oyster Cult and The Alan Parsons Project.

you don't need to hear everything to like someone.

it's really ok if you listen and just identify with a small group of their albums.

You know when I say I really struggle with some bands, say Queen, in that I don't like them entirely but there is something THERE that keeps me coming back?

I have the opposite issue with all things Dio. I really like everything I've heard. I have zero complaints. But I have never felt curious to come back, or have an album I've played that lingers in my mind, even if aspects annoy me.

Dio is great. Never gonna even try and argue that because you can't.

But oddly...not moved at all by any aspect of his work, even Sabbath.

Odd, isn't it?

I'm the opposite. If they only have a few albums I like, they will never make my rotation and wouldn't consider myself a fan. Motley Crue is a good example. Their first two albums and Dr. Feelgood I think are good but they haven't been in my rotation for 30 years and I wouldn't consider myself a fan today.

First music I've heard in two weeks. I tend to play none when I'm on traveling on vacation/holiday.

Hey Chronos I'd be interested to see your TULL album rankings. Let's see it!
