Gordon Lighfoot-Summertime Dream (10/10)

i have memories of my mom cooking dinner with this man in the background.  His music makes me remember warm summer days in the 90's without a care in the world.

Nice post, bluefox. I have a very similar sentiment. I have memories of my dad (RIP) working in the gas station / repair shop he owned with this man in the background. His music makes me remember warm summer days in the 70s without a care in the world.

Texas Is The Reason - Do You Know Who You Are?

Found it on Bandcamp, good stuff! Worth more of my time for sure. Especially dug the last couple tracks.

I enjoy this album too, but I feel after ANATO, BG have not released anything quite so amazing as what came before.

I actually felt last years The God Machine was a bit of a letdown, but it was universally acclaimed and treated as a return to form. I thought it sounded like a bunch of demos with lacklustre production, and it felt very samey.

But I enjoyed this album a lot!

100% agree.

Nothing after ANATO has been as good as the strong albums that came before.

I also agree that The Machine was a let down.  Great vocals - thats a given - but otherwise a dud to my ears.  I have watched a recent show on youtube and even the live performance of the songs from The God Machine did not thrill me.

It's not like they've ever had good albums covers to begin with.

Maybe adoration for it has calmed down, but last year all I saw was excessive praise!

Dream Theater- A View From The Top Of The World

I read an interview where the band discussed this album being criticised for sounding "too Dream Theater". I am sure I have had issues before with bands releasing albums that are so uninspired and recycled sounding, I lament that they sound too much of the same old same old (the last couple of Kansas comes to mind, or even KK Priest, who sound like a lame caricature of a much better band), but I just can't say I feel that way here. This is a beautiful sounding album with great songs, ideas and melodies.

You can't please everyone though.

Most of their covers are just pictures of the band.

Here’s some that are a little more than that that I also think are very good:

The original cover for Sticky Fingers with the zipper is a good one. I think It's Only Rock N Roll has a good cover too. But most of their covers are just meh to me.
