The 5 Albums You've Listened to the Most

Recommended Posts

Saw this on YouTube the other day and thought it was a good question. I think it's based on a Ricky Gervais tweet or some damn thing.

What are the 5 albums that you've listened to the most in your life? Five. F-i-v-e.

Not necessarily the best, but the ones that are burned into your brain. :P

This is what I came up with:

Another Green World - Brian Eno

Close to the Edge - Yes

Cheap Trick s/t 1977

Help - The Beatles

The Madcap Laughs - Syd Barrett

Have a go!

Days of Future Passed

Close To The Edge

Quadrophenia

Frampton Comes Alive

Aja

Had to edit. Forgot about Close To The Edge. I listened to that way more than Beggar's Banquet. A lot more.

Oh God, I would have no idea what album to even start with. I'm too big of a music nerd to even take a guess at what my list would be.

Exactly my thinking too.

I was just standing in my living room looking at all my CDs that I have in my CD racks. I couldn't even fathom a guess here. It could be anything from Rush just as much as it could be anything by Sabbath, Maiden, Alice Cooper or Dio. Maybe it's the first five Metallica albums? Who the hell knows? Lol.

Caress Of Steel

2112

Farewell to Kings

Hemispheres

Those 4 are a good bet. Number 5 would probably be Moving Pictures

Non-Rush would probably be something like:

Zep 1

Zep 3

Yes - Relayer (but maybe CttE instead)

Allmans - Fillmore East (this could possibly beat out one of the Rush albums)

Hendrix - Are You Experienced

The band Ive probably listened to most is the Grateful Dead, but it's all live shows and one certain show couldn't make the charts.

Oh god:

1. Lacuna Coil- Karmacode

I know it is. Every day for YEARS I would spin this. Always on repeat.

And then the next most played ever?

Probably:

ABBA- Gold

Third Eye Blind- Third Eye Blind

Nightwish- Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Sonata Arctica- The Days Of Grays

The Beatles-The White Album

Pointer Sisters- Break out (i owned the cassete this was my shit, lol)

The Beatles-Rubber Soul

Billy Joel-The Stranger

The Beatles-Abbey Road.

again total guess.

but over my life so far Accurate i think.....and really no surprise the Beatles dominate.

I'm pretty sure A Night At The Opera doesn't make the list for me. Many times have a listened to its perfection, but not as many as I've listened to a number of other less perfect releases from my all time favorite band.

if we could extend lists that album would be like literally number 6, lol

lol, I was wondering if Queen would make your list or not. Getting nudged out by The Beatles is nothing to be ashamed of :)

Part of what makes this really tough for me is I could probably tell you what five records I've listened to the most in the past year or so, but five years ago that list would've been completely different. I'm really still in the thick of the journey of musical discovery, and I don't see it ending soon.

the number 5 spot was honestly between The Stranger and Opera. But billy edged them out. i spent a full year basically playing nothing BUT the Stranger, lol.

so i had to be fair.

lol.

To be fair i thought my list would be more "hip" cause i was playing metal and grunge and alt. Rock.

but it turned to synth pop and old "dinosaur rock"

:laughing guy: :laughing guy:
