Rick N. Backer
Fortunate Son is probably my favorite CCR song. I've never owned an album of theirs, and I don't really feel like it has negatively affected my life. Hotel California, lyrically, is creepier than the song Black Sabbath. It is an amazing song. That's why it's all over classic rock radio.
bluefox4000
Opinions are opinions. but saying CCR doesn't have hits is just a falsehood. Mick Edited December 5, 2017 by bluefox4000
HemiBeers
I'm always partial to songs with a huge 'f**k you!' attitude. Especially compared to meandering songs about creepy hotels. CCR
HemiBeers
I fully understand the status Hotel California has achieved, but the Eagles in general - and that song in particular - have always left me cold .. It's just so lifeless to me I love Fortunate Son .. It's my favorite Creedence song and it has some passion behind it CCR wins this one ..Yeah The Eagles are sort of in the same category as Pink Floyd for me. Yeah they're great, legendary, whatever. But I don't feel the need to listen to them.

invisible airwave
You guys are crazy. Just change the channel if something is overplayed. Then it’s not overplayed anymore because you’re not allowing it to be played :P Anyway, I’m going for the cooler rock song with the cooler lyrics - Fortunate Son Tell that to Lebowskis cab driver.

HemiBeers
Why do I get the feeling that Fortunate Son would be a great theme song for the next Democratic Presidential nominee? '...It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no president's son, son...' Sorry for veering into politics, but the CCR song is a yuge 'f**k you!' to da man. Ironically, a Kennedy is considered, Joe Kennedy iii. Normally, I wouldn’t go off tangent here but I have to because it just so happens he was born the same month day and year as me. That’s when you know you’re getting old.
Fridge
Much as I love CCR, and generally I think they are the better band of the two, Hotel California is a one of a kind masterpiece, so have to go with that one.
Ancient Ways
Travesty Not a CCR fan?CCR is fine. Hotel California is an all time classic. CCR doesn’t have one.Of course they do. Numerous, in fact.In that case we’ve found out for the millionth time on this forum that everyone has a different opinion when it comes to music. I don’t find anything CCR has done to be anything more than decent. That doesn't mean they don't have all-time classic songs. It just means you, personally, don't like the songs. You guys can be a real treat. I know what I mean and I mean that I don’t believe any of their songs are all time classics. As far as me not liking them that’s just you putting words in my mouth/hands. I never said I didn’t like CCR.
