For the record, I really enjoy side 2 of 2112. Too many people give it short shrift, and that's a shame. However, I do think that Hemispheres is more consistently great from start to finish. Production? It's good...it's very good. But I think their best sound, was achieved on Permanent Waves, no question. That album's production, even compared to all of the other ones in the Terry Brown era, just has a certain X-factor, to my mind. Everything was just done perfectly. Moving Pictures comes awfully close in that respect as well.

I went to my first baseball game today with my grandma and her dog. Though the Rays lost, it was actually really cool to attend. I had never gone to a sporting event before.

While I don't think there is a single weak song on Hemispheres, and La Villia is in my top 5 Rush songs, IMO PeW reaches a bit higher. It has a superior sonic quality. If I could only have one Rush album this would be it.

I'm over Rush but I still wholeheartedly love them...just not as much as many other bands. But I do rate them highly. It will just be a long while before I enjoy them again.

Got up today, and I went and got gas in the tank, and washed the car for the first time in a few years. Got the underwash as well. Car looks like it did on the showroom floor! Went for a ride to listen to one of my Summer Faves Cruisin' Mix CDs, and this one started off with Xanadu! [all the Summer Fave CDs start off with a RUSH song from the year of release] "Light My Fire" was on this mix also, and "Hey Jude" as well as "Feels Like The First Time" and "More Than a Feeling". This one ends with the entire version of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"! There really hasn't been any film like The Breakfast Club that is comparable or in the same league since the 80s .. And that is a testament to how well it holds up .. What makes it so good and stand out are the dramatic themes and the honesty that comes out from each character - it's not a film that is only enjoyed if you grew up in the 80s .. As JB said, it is timeless, and just happened to be made in 1985

When these two were on they were REALLY on. Problem for me was that they both didn't sustain. At their best though, they're up there with my personal favorites.

i have love/hate thing with them. love the tunes so much. but the vocals drive me up a wall, lol Acquired taste i guess. Mick I gotta say, I never fully understood the "I can't get into X band because I don't like the vocalist"... I feel like as long as the vocalist is doing his/her best to utilize their voice, then there's no problem.. but on top of that I can't figure out what is about Claudio that makes people hate him so much.. Amazing band...lasted about three years on my radar and then I just lost interest. But I still love them in my own way!

I think there needs to be some clarification. If you're talking about sound quality that has to do with mixing and production but it seems you're talking about song quality which is a whole 'nother thing.
