  1. It's very easy for me! "HEMISPHERES" The greatest album ever created on the planet Earth! "2112: A Space Odyssey" coming soon to theaters near you! Signed, Arthur C.aress Of Steel Clarke

  2. Something like Caress Of Steel on steroids. Something dark and dreary and not real uplifting. Go out with a bang. And calm down the f**king production please!! I don't need 50 layers of everything!! :)

  3. And I hope they do. Less overdubbing and more "space". Kind of ironic how Alex wanted to get rid of the keyboards so he wouldn't have to "find a place". Now he fills every nook and cranny in the song. Let it breathe Al, let it breathe.

  4. she sucks and all but I don't know why people are getting riled up by her dumbass antics, this type of performing is nothing new. except miley seems to want to take things to GWAR levels

  5. Sure it CAN be. But what are the odds? I think that it's their best since Moving Pictures. We can always hope they can keep the momentum. FWIW - I think the "story" is pretty stoooopid. Clem

  6. "...take things to GWAR levels." That's pretty awesome. I think I'll incorporate that phrase into my daily lexicon.

  7. Wow, I never thought about it this way, but the GWAR comparision is really spot on!

  8. Caress of Steel is a heavy metal classic that sits alongside other 1975 metal slabs like Black Sabbath's Sabotage, Scorpions In Trance, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Thin Lizzy's Fighting, plus Rush's own previous metal slab Fly By Night... :haz: :haz: :haz: :haz: :haz:

  10. The album has a few good tunes on it. In The Presence Of Enemies is awesome. I like Constant Motion and Forsaken is a cool tune to. The rest is just whatever to me. Telling someone who is new to Dream Theater to start with Systematic Chaos is the equivalent of telling someone who's new to Rush to listen to Roll The Bones first. Yeah, there's a few great songs on it but that's not where you want to begin. Images & Words and Awake are the albums that got me into the band way back when they first came out. Metropolis 2 is considered by most to be their best album. So that's why I always tell people to start with those three. Those are also their three best albums anyways.

  11. CA is one of Rush's less worthy efforts imo. I hope they go back to writing great songs & leave all this wall of noise stuff behind them.

  12. I don't know what they could do that they haven't done before. Something dark, maybe? Daring? Emotionally gripping stuff touching on areas of the psyche once thought impossible for them to handle, and yet somehow pulled off in a critically-acclaimed instant classic that could only be done by them? Sorry, too much coffee again.

  15. Haha. It is! Middletown won 3-2!! Woo-hoo!! Game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. The captain scored the game winning goal 15:24 into OT. (Love that they let them play and didn't go shootout) Nerve wracking game but it was great. Both teams really brought it. Congrats, Zach!

  16. coldfire, I know EXACTLY what you mean about "prog for the sake of being prog," sort of makes you wonder if basing all your songs off yes, genesis and ELP is really all that "progressive"

  17. Especially the guitar solo!!!!!!!!!! "Who's come to slay the dragon?" THE DRAGON IS A SYMBOL FOR METAL! Love, DIO That dragon is laughing at the dragon from Red Dragon Cartel!! Jake's dragon is an old fool who chases ice cream trucks! :laughing guy: Hahahaha! The Red "Drag" On Shitel! I think "Trilogy" by Malmsteen is a piece of shit record too. A three headed dragon cover of dung! That live album from DOKKEN "Beast From The East" has a dragon tattoo on the cover. Shitty live album and and a shit studio cut, "Walk Away." Dio's "Intermission" ep cd sucks. I think having a dragon on the cover of a rock record is a curse. I can't think of any album that is good with a dragon. Even the Y&T album "FACEMELTER" has a dragon on it. IT'S CRAP! RUSH IN RIO doesn't blow my mind either! Dragons and Rock And Roll = CURSE.

  25. I don't get Rush fans who complain about lyrics like 'going bald' and 'dog years'. We have the most kick-ass rhythm section on the planet, the most versatile, under-rated guitarist in the universe, but um geez.. Them lyrics (!?!?) REALLY?? ..Who bought 'Caress of Steel' for the lyrics anyway?? We've been humouring kiss for decades, I say let Rush crank out a silly tune once in a while! K, done ranting, welcome back Big Earl! Lol

  30. I beg to differ on that point. Warm in winter means, to me, a relief from the cold harshness of winter, awakening feelings of the spring to come. Right now I am experiencing a period of warm relief from the up-until-now harsh winter, and I welcome it. I was wondering if the fear of tornadoes expressed in several posts above as a result of cold winter going to substantially warmer all of a sudden might be a regional thing where the posters lived, and not applicable here where I live, but my brother (who is a park ranger and who is consequently supposed to be weather wise and know this shit) just sent me a text warning me to "look out for tornadoes tonight" I responded that I would not look out for tornadoes, since there was nothing I could do to affect whether they might suddenly appear and hit my house or not. That sort of thing is just a matter of blind stupid luck. Maybe so, but listening to a weather radio or the tv for a tornado warning could save your life if one were coming and you were able to get under cover in time.

  38. This I think is their first hidden gem. It is a great song that could apply to pretty much any touring band. It is a very honest look into their early road life, and has a nice guitar part. It's one of my favorites from the album. Also love the "From Sea to Shining Sea" lyric refrencing Canada's motto on the coat of arms.

  40. That bums me out then Pat because Jake E. Lee's new vocalist sucks too!! You're dead right Earl the Red Dragon Cartel has a bum for a lead vocalist, this is why I didn't get the album, that and the sloppy guitar work from Jake. I saw this interview with Jake on youtube at NAMM 2014 and he was drunk. He said the reason he came back and formed a new band was because one day he was chasing an ice cream truck and was catching it up but fell down a slope and broke his foot, smashed his heel he said and he couldn't get up. So while he was there he said he had a revelation, he needed a cell phone and a new band!! :o He sounded out of it! :smoke: He also admitted he was a better player when he was in Ozzy and he doesn't practice or prepare like that anymore and didn't even in Badlands. PAT! You and I haven't talked or typed in months and yet time doesn't matter! You and I have so much in common! You are my brother from another musical brother! Although I just mentioned how much I hate "Flick Of The Switch!" LOL! It is what it is mate!! I was so stupid about the Jake E Lee! I bought the Best Buy version with the bonus track. Then I bought the Japanese version with a different track. I just assumed it was going to be incredible. You called it. Shit singer, shit sloppy guitar playing. I'm a fuckking fool!!! Now I am worried about MOONKINGS and I just bought two Japanese pressings!!! I'm in fear that our old guitar heroes are just selling out for a fukking cash grab. Frontiers Records in Italy is the biggest Corporate Whore int he CD Business! Rock And Roll is my crack rock and I still give in and give them my money! ROCK CANDY RECORDS is another whore that I love to sleep with! They just remastered the first three DOKKEN albums. They sound fukking amazing! Listening to Vandenberg's "Alibl" Japanese pressing now. PEDAL TO THE METAL!!! VANDENBERG USED TO RULE! Our guitar heroes are turning into old prune ZEROS! In ten years from now all of our bands that we grew up with will be fuckking GONE! INCLUDING RUSH!!!! My soul will be crushed. Rock and Roll will be truly dead. I will be 56 in ten years. I hope The Rush Forum will be around. Hey Motley Crue is going out on their FINAL TOUR! I'm gonna pass! They are the NEW KISS! KISS MY ASS VINCE, MICK, NIKKI AND TOMMY! TOMMY LEE ISN'T EVEN DOING THE MEET AND GREETS AT 3000 BUCKS A TICKET! FUKK MOTLEY CRUE!

  44. Whoa, cygnux-x1.net is your site? So cool. I love your site and have been going for years. It is such an awesome resource for fans, I appreciate the work that must go into it, even if it is a labour of love. Just tonight I was browsing the tour books for the Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres tours! The timeline looks fantastic. I have often dreamed of there being something like that, and now there is! I will definitely be going back again and again. My brain really loves information presented that way. Totally minor things I thought about while looking at it: It would look nicer on a page with a white background. The design is so nice and clean it'd look better against a similarly basic background (not to say I don't like the default site look, I do, I just think they're two different design aesthetics). Also, if it were possible for future versions to filter information by type, like album releases, biographical, etc. But like I said, those are two minor things, it is fantastic as it is now. Cheers!
