In the UK and Canada, it is Y-Y-Zed.

In the US, it is YYZ.

Easy!

Too bad they didn't address this in the doc!  laugh.gif

I forget who, but one of the celebrity guys says PERT.  I think it was Jack Black.  I cringed.  There for all time, in the band's own documentary - and the dude f*cks it up.  He's blacklisted, no doubt.

Dude is a weirdo anyway. I don't think I laughed once at his antics during the doc.

He also said "Pert" in School of Rock. I'm sure 80% of the world has seen that movie, and now everyone knows him as "Pert". Oh well. At least he's getting some recognition  wink.gif

If you're from the US it's pronounced Pert. If you are from Canukistan you pronounce it Peert. Pretty much sums it up.

Canukistan!   lol!  Good one!    rofl3.gif

Yes, it was Jack.  I can't understand why he does that.

Take the word Ear. Now sandwich it between a P and a T... Peart.

That's how I think of it, anyways.

I always get a laugh out of people who (a) call themselves fans...(b)who have actually met Neil...©who spent a lot of time with the man...still pronouncing his name wrong.

Recently on VH1 Classic's That Metal Show, Peter Criss was on talking about all the great times KISS had touring with Rush...how they spent so much time together as friends during those tours, etc. But he still pronounced it "Pert". Don't you think you'd know how to say the guy's name right after spending that much time with him?

Just be glad it's only one syllable. Imagine if Alex went by his actual last name!  biggrin.gif

It's not "PERT" (rhymes with "hurt"). What I'm not sure about is if it's PEERT ("peer") or PEART ("pear").

Thanks for the "Peer"t pressure Jim!

There is no doubt about it.  It drives me nuts.

It's not like Pert Shampoo at all.

I have a "Roll The Bones" promo interview cd where there is actually a radio spot on there where Neil says,  "Hello, this is Neil "Peer"t from Rush and you are listening to "fill in the blank radio station."

Pags, I didn't want to bring this up at all but you nailed it.
I couldn't believe it when Jack Black said Peart the incorrect way in that doc.

I guess you could say that Jack really should be "BLACK"listed!   laugh.gif

The real question of the Ages is:

Why isn't Rush in the Cock N' Roll Hall Of Shame?

Talk about a band that truly is "Blacklisted."
