Pretty much the entirety of Counterparts is about relationships/females, and some of Hold Your Fire as well.

Lucas
Neil was at his best when he dipped into religion and all it's glorious Technicolor imagery Unfortunately, as he got older and too damn literal and all jaded, all this great imaginative cinematic music came to an end .. All at once, the clouds are parted, light streams down in bright unbroken beams s s s s s s ...

goose
The Gadd fill. "Aja"Just watched a couple of YouTube sessions with Steve going over those fills, followed by the song Aja itself. Amazing stuff. But Neil's obsession with integrating it has become a little
RUSHHEAD666
The Gadd fill. "Aja"Just watched a couple of YouTube sessions with Steve going over those fills, followed by the song Aja itself. Amazing stuff. But Neil's obsession with integrating it has become a little  I totally get it. Yeah the "Aja" song itself is amazing. When I met Gadd I called in the "King Of The Triplet." He looked up at me and smiled. He asked me if I played the drums. I said, "heck yes 35 years." He signed his latest album for me. It' said..... "Earl, keep playing!" Steve Gadd" Great guy

x1yyz
Neil should write lyrics about how fat and stupid Americans are. He seems to love that theme in his books Well, we are. And didn't he get naturalized and is now a fat, stupid American himself?
Rod in Toronto
Man vs machine and all metaphors associated with this dychotomy - that was all over the place in the 80's. That and "flickering lights".
