TheWatchMaker97
I think it would be cool if Rush wrote an album that consisted of every song being a different genre of music that they have played over the years. A few prog rock songs, one or two syth songs, a blues rock song, and maybe a few alternative rock songs like off of Counterparts.

presto123
Leave off the blues(first record, Feedback) and the folk(Snakes) and I'm game. Oh....and how about some great production this time around? Counterparts was the last record that had it.

Rod in Toronto
If and when they do it, I imagine it will be a natural progression of Clockwork Angels in terms if sound, sans the conceptual lyrics.

Counterparts was the last record that had it. Snakes is a folk album? Never said it was a folk album, but yes, it has some folk elements(yuck) and even Irish shanty in some of the acoustic guitar bits. Not what I'm looking for out of Rush.

I'm fine with the conceptual lyrics, just keep Kevin J Anderson away from the story. He's about the worst "popular" sci-fi writer that I know of. I've read better children's books. EagleMoon
I think they ought to try something like a rock opera. Something in the line of Tommy or Quadrophenia.
bluefox4000
Just keep Nick the terrible away from Production duties. If it was Rush who pushed the CA sound. keep them away too. i just want a kick ass SOUNDING album. Mick

TexMike
I keep thinking the most likely scenario is Neil decides to write a musical piece based on the new Clockwork Lives book. Which I wouldn't mind if the music continued in the heavier progressive direction of CA (AND they hired an old school producer like Terry Brown). Ya, I been thinking that they might do a "Clockwork Angles Sequel" or something similar. I wouldn't mind that at all.

JBsDWdrums
No preconcieved ideas like 2 songs from this era 2 songs from that...one of the cool things with Rush as always been the end result of each record has been an honest representation of where they were at each point.....whether you like it over time or not....its real....all except Feedback anyway.... I don't know where they would take it from there. But I sure would be stoked to find out.
