Blue J
Have you seen Aladdin? not yet........i dunno know if i want to, lol I saw the little Mermaid. Didn't work for me. The best show that worked was Beauty and the Beast. Lion King is overrated. on stage i mean. Mick I saw Lion King. Favourite live experience of my life bar Nightwish. The Lion King is coming to my town in early June, for a four or five-week run. I really would like to go! Mick isn't a fan of the film, story, music at all. But if you are, it is a must! I like it a lot, yes...I've seen just some previews of the stage show, and I think it looks pretty incredible.
Segue Myles
Lion King was a huge part of my childhood, and as an adult it keeps on getting better! Â Show is stunning.

I am desperate for it to be a stage show, or a new movie like next years Beauty And The Beast musical with Emma Watson.

I just know I will be watching it to death. Plus, new songs from Alan Menken? Yes!!  Bill Condon directed Dreamgirls, my favourite movie musical of all time.

Although stage Dreamgirls is one of theater's great watermarks. Mick
Segue Myles
I don't think West Side Story is a great film. Never liked it. Dreamgirls is one of my favourite films of all time. I don't care about the Broadway version, the recordings feel more Broadway, less Motown and that bugs me. The movie soundtrack sounds like a joyous homage to a great era, and the cast is superb.

Plus, they got rid of the kiddie humour, which I appreciate in the movie but that A Guy Like You song always winds me up! Played it twice, my parents adore it as well.
Segue Myles
Frollo is the best villain because he is the one I could most imagine existing in the real world. I would love the animation just as it is with this new soundtrack (but keep Demi Moore, her Esmerelda is the only sexy thing Demi ever did, as far as I am concerned. I love her voice more than her face).

Segue Myles
So I am sort of settled in the fact that those seventies piano men you love so much don't do anything for me at all. Billy JoelBarry ManilowElton John Plus other singer songwriters like Rod Stewart, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, they all are a miss for me. I like individual songs from all of these, and in the case of Billy Joel, two whole albums, but I much prefer heartland rock to this slushy balladry. I don't like the tinky tonk pinkness of it all.   David Bowie, on the other hand... Edited February 11, 2016 by Segue Myles
