10. The Truth Beneath the Rose

Ok. Longer Track. I just picture this band rocking out while going through dark forests, lol.

I hear Kate Bush now. Definatly in her higher notes.

A Kate Bush collaboration would be INSANE.

This one feels the most like it could fit in a fantasy film.

Mick

It's so funny, on their first two albums and EP, as they became bigger, the Kate Bush comparisons came flooding in (you hear it most in Mother Earth). She had no idea, the band didn't either. So when they listened to Kate Bush they actually heard the similarity, and recorded a cover of Running Up That Hill as a between album single!

I love that they did this! But this bombastic side of their music was already evolving before Evanescence came along.

The only difference between this album and 2001's Mother Earth is more skill and a HUGE budget.

WT are superstars in Europe (and they sold out Wembley, and supported Maiden!).

11. Forgiven.

Love the Piano intro.

this one's gonna be sad, lol

This is Most like a sad theater ballad. The girl in a spotlight center stage.

I love the cello here.

this one's stunning nice to hear a song that doesn't explode in bombast. Great closer.

So i give this a solid 9/10.

i will be returning.

Cause this could make perfect score.

This and The Silent Force were staples of my youth.

FACT:

Sharon Den Adel's had no vocal training. Completely self taught, down to this day.

Same as Cristina Scabbia.

Personally, Tarja was overtrained. You hear it especially on Once, where she is perfect, but sterile.

To give you an idea of how theatrical WT get, look at this dress:

If Tim Burton took tips from Joel Schumacher.

Glad you liked them though.

They don't have quite the emotional resonance with me that Nightwish has, and no way do they mean as much to me as LC (nothing does), but Nightwish are pure escapism for me. I always feel lifted when I play them. And they mean more to me for many reasons than most bands.

They changed my life and listening habits all the way back in 2005.

I don't get why I don't enjoy Meatloaf very much.

You know my taste.

It somehow doesn't fit.

Not in love with them either...

Something totally off for me about Steinman. Total Eclipse Of The Heart is the only exception. Thanks Bonnie!

Yeeeaaaaah...

I am going through a phase where I am reading more than listening to music, and i swear I have the least patience for new sounds than I have had in years!

Plus...battling some bad times. I sorta quietly hate everything BUT I have enjoyed Bowie. I sorta connect with him, he shares that sort of anti-conformity that I have. I love him, so far I haven't hated anything (although Space Oddity is not my favourite recent new album experience).

But even with him I am not ravenous.

I know I have been negative. Not really loving this side to me atm haha!

(It's so bad I actually cannot stand Toto at this moment in time, THAT HURTS!).

And I really cannot stand cheese ATM. Today's WT was the most I have enjoyed bombast (I know Nightwish are cheesy to many but for personal reasons they are poets to my soul).

And I hate Dream Theater.

Which is odd coz I love them!

I seriously need to lighten up.

Or embrace the fact that lately I have enjoyed musicals more than rock n roll.

Which now I come to think of it explains why I lived WT today...

Hhhhmmmmm...maybe more soundtracks are what I need!
