bluefox4000
Toto How is Toto underrated? Toto has 8-10 very good songs and albums full of boring, mundane crap. I'd rather go to a dentist than listen to Hydra or Fahrenheit, for example. :D "Endless" is very underrated song though. It kicks ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntu5GumlKqU Hence underrated......people think they're crap.....i don't, lol Mick

troutman
Earl, You are going to love Billy Idol. Just saw him in NJ the other night, he was just fantastic. I don't have any of Steve's stuff, but they are on my list. Kings & Queens of the Underground just might be my favourite release of 2014. Enjoy the big rock show! http://onthelistpresents.smugmug.com/Billy-Idol-2015/North-America/Montclair-12915/i-59d3zv7/0/S/IMG_1194-S.jpg Is that Grace Slick? :P

To be fair, both McLaughlin and Cobham are renowned "Giants" within the Jazz Rock world, and deservedly so. Under-rated for me are guys like Bill Nelson and Frank Marino. Not as good as EVH on Beat It but still :haz: worthy. If you want good power pop, I recommend Marvelous 3. I got Hey! Album in my senior year of high school when Freak of the Week came out and could not stop listening to it.
bluefox4000
I totally forgot Roine Stolt of the Flower Kings and Transatlantic. Del_Duio
I always seem to bring these guys up in some way, but no denying how friggin' great these guitarists are: Jim Mogine & Martin Rotsey of Midnight Oil. A lot of their songs, especially earlier stuff are hard to figure out because of how well they play their different parts and make it sound like one whole kick in the ass without drowning the other out. They're the 2 guys on the right in this picture below. http://resources3.news.com.au/images/2012/08/09/1226446/974659-midnight-oil.jpg

Lorraine
How about Spirit (Randy California)? They got swallowed up back then by everyone else that was on the scene. I never thought they got the recognition they deserved.
