Spain & Cuba: Moros y Cristianos = "Moors" (dark beans) and "Christians" (white rice)Nicaragua & Costa Rica: Gallo PInto = "Spotted Rooster", which is what a glob of this looks like, I supposeVenezuela: Pabellon Criollo = "Creole pile", (some European settler replaced your native food by taking a dump on your plate?); served with or without "rails", which are two slices of fried bananas. I like mine con barandas!Mexico: Arroz con frijoles = "rice" with "beans" Very creative name.
