Predicting an easy upcoming weekend for the Chiefs,   but that loss to the Lions...

Especially since the Bears seem to be in an even worse mess than usual, and might be worse still by gameday.

Classic opportunity for Chiefs to come in with low energy, sleepwalk to an early deficit, and pull out a win in the second half.   I do wonder whether KC can keep that approach going win-wise.

Things are shaping up nicely.  Kelce and Jones are back in dominating fashion, and the offensive unit looks like it's finally in sync.

All is well in KC.

The Swifties are out in force.  Chiefs viewership among women went up 65% or something like that, and Kelce got 500K new followers.  Plus his jersey is now top 5 in NFL with merch up 400%.

Next KC Game

Is Taylor Swift going to the New York Jets game?

Via Michael McCarthy of FrontOfficeSports.com, the pop icon Taylor Swift plans to attend Sunday night's game between the Chiefs and the jets at MetLife Stadium. Swift is now dating (or whatever they call it)
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

What are thoughts here about the refs in the game against the Jets? There were at least 2 very obvious calls (holding and intentional grounding) against the Chiefs that weren't called and the "penalty" for defensive holding against the Jets that came well after the Jets intercepted Mahomes pass.

It wasn't intentional grounding.  Receiver #10 was in the vecinity and Mahomes' arm was held which restricted his forward motion in completing the pass.  The announcer explained it pretty clearly.

The hold...are you talking about the handful of jersey?  When the lineman keeps his hands in tight to the defender's chest, holding is rarely called.  As they say, you could have holding on every play, otherwise.

Jets fans, lol

This is the holding call. It's against number 11 on the Jets. No comment on the very late phantom def. holding after the interception? Not a Jets fans.

^^^ video is blocked.  My comment regarding Jets fans was towards them flooding the net with talk of a pro-Chiefs conspiracy.  From my perspective it's a matter of past success earning a player or team a benefit of the doubt.

Alright, I checked out discussion of the late-game holding call.  Comments are that the flag was late but that it was clearly a hold.

Just saw the video of the play, and yeah, when the receiver makes his move, the defender has a hand across the neck and on the far shoulder.  Jets coach is pissed, and I get it because I've been there.

Which is how it should be.  To be the best you've got to beat the best.   And overcome any implicit advantage they get from past success.*

*Tom Brady excluded.  He never got any benefit of the doubt from past success.   Far  from it.  He not only had to overcome the opponent, but the incompetence of his own defense, less-than-special teams, offensive skill position players, offensive line, coaches, etc.

Chiefs' defense and Travis Kelce are having a night so far! Kelce with 109 first half yards, with 1:49 left to play  :notworthy:

And Mahomes throws his 2nd pick.  Wait, pass interference! Conspiracy theorists will have fun with this one.

And on cue KC gets flagged for a holding AND an intentional grounding call on the same play!  The League is obviously conspiring AGAINST the Chiefs.

Three starts for the offense around the 40yd line and we end the half with ten points?

Butker makes a 61-yarder!  So thirteen points.  Still...

Herbstreit's a traitor to his profession.  The story of Kansas City's season will be their DEFENSE?!?!?

It's all about the QB.  And only the QB.

Just imagine if KC had a QB that could punch it in.  Butker for MVP!
