Khan
I love wine...especially reds. I like to find good, inexpensive wines. I find that many wines under $10 are just as good as a $25 bottle of wine, and quite frankly, I don't want to spend that much on one bottle. What's your favorites? One of my all time fav cheap wines is http://www.thatsthespirit.com/en/entertaining/articles/christmas_gift_sets_and%20_boxes/IMAGES/6_Jacob%27s_Creek_Wine_Set.jpg
Gompers
Super cheap wine I drink almost daily. Here is my staple when I am not drinking some award wining home made Cabernet. http://www.liquormart.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/600x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/1/3/13050_6.jpg I also am a fan of.. I am a big fan of California reds. Not so much the Chilean.
goose
Charles Shaw, aka 2-Buck Chuck, from Trader Joe's. Decanted, it's quite inoffensive and does just fine. Every time I drink a really nice but spendy wine, I love the experience, but feel a bit ripped off.
Mara
Big House Wines are great, especially for the price. http://www.bighousewines.com/wines/big-house-red/ My sister & her husband were wine aficionados and often hosted tastings. "Wine snobs" were quite fond of the Big House wines and gave them good reviews. Plus each label has a different sketch of a guy escaping from "The Big House". It's amazing what the nose and mouth really sense when the illusion of the label is removed. Mix pricey and cheap wines...taste...find the best bang for the buck. I remember a local wine shop did a tasting and one of the wines had been shoving their noses deep in the glass, swirling, swishing, tasting carefully. It got decent reviews from the crowd, such as lively, playful, upstart... The source of this fun little wine? It was canned concord grape concentrate. pjbear05
Cheap wine? Come on, you can get lower than that. The corner market near my house still sells Richard's Wild Irish Rose, which is equivalent to drinking hair tonic. Then there's Ripple, Thunderbird, and the king of them all, Mad Dog 20/20. Karen (wife) found an old Sterling wine bottle holder for a friend's birthday gift and asked me to get a bottle of wine for it. I bought Gallo White Port. gangsterfurious
I am no longer a wine drinker (skin issues and went back to being a Mormon). But when I was I used to drink nightly and this was my absolute favorite cheap red. Love, love, love it. http://www.chariotwines.com/ Here is a good review of it. http://jasonswineblog.com/2009/06/20/2007-chariot-gypsy/ Edited April 14, 2013 by gangsterfurious
