I never liked this guy. I hope the rover runs over him.

Great job NASA!

That looks photoshopped to me...

I don't know, this project is about equal to 4 days in Afghanistan. The NASA Budget is less than the air-conditioning budget in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Because someday mankind will use up the earth and will eventually need a second place to call home. If we learn all we can about Mars before that, it will make it much easier for us to establish it as an eventual second home. It will be many years before that happens and it won't happen in out lifetime. But it will be an awesome feat to one day have humans living on another planet.

Plus, it's space exploration and that rules icon_alienjig.gif

My favorite image so far. The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter finds Curiosity descending to the surface after chute deployment.

Another one taken during decent from the Mars Science Laboratory itself! Its heat shield just after being ejected.

What about job exploration? Been unemployed lately?

Yes, I'm employed, but many friends are not!

What about being aware that our current behaviors are

destroying the very planet we live on? We can't continue

to use up all the resources without dire consequences!

Does anyone smell disaster?? Global warming happens

for a reason..we are responsible for it.

What the hell does unemployment have to do with this? I was unemployeed for about 9 months back in 2003 when my job layed me off, but who cares? That was years ago and has nothing to do with the topic being discussed here.

Exactly, we're on Mars! And that's amazing! Are you seriously not happy about that?
