Not everyone in my life is going to be a Rush fan (my boyfriend included, ), but I still have some pretty cool people regardless of their musical tastes. And that's what Rush forums are for: expressing and enjoying the love of Rush with like-minded people! I like when Rush comes up in day-to-day life, BTW, like on facebook. If you're in a band, have a buisness of some kind or are a celebrity it's understandable, your life is already public so it makes sense. But for regular everyday people? What the hell is the purpose? I don't care about what's going on in the life of some random person in Oregon. I can't imagine they were too good of a friend, as otherwise that's kind of sad. If being a Rush fan was a requirement to have a relationship with someone, some of us would have to get divorces, quit jobs, etc. to get away from non-Rush fans.
