His style is silly and often unlistenable, kind of like your posts. Actually, none of those terms apply to Myung. He is very humble, and seems content to let all of the other DT musicians have center stage. I thought his name was Dung Somehow I doubt that, considering you already referenced his proper name. Mocking someone's ethnicity is not cool. I am not mocking his anything---Dummy up I think you need to put your pacifier back in your mouth... And, since it seems to be your favorite emoticon:
  2. Why would anyone want Rush to win a Grammy?
  3. I only have 3 albums from this year - CA, Flying Colors and TAAB2. I like CA & Flying Colors about the same, both are better than TAAB2, although I do like it.

  7. QUOTE (trenken @ Aug 2 2012, 07:37 AM) QUOTE (eshine @ Aug 2 2012, 02:50 AM) It is succinct. The guy sounds like a Rush fan but not a fanboy. His comments are right on the mark. QUOTE Geddy Lee's bass is mixed further up-front than it has been in some time -- which makes his mind-blowing chops resound: there are amazing pizzicatos interspersed in driving hard rock fills and edgy, off-kilter funk riffs. His voice is more nuanced and more emotionally expressive. QUOTE Alex Lifeson's acoustic guitars have an established place here, but his electric axes roar over them throughout. QUOTE Peart's drumming is the catalyst: his technical mastery makes his playing sound purely instinctive. CA is full of dynamic surprises I've read all the reviews of this album, but this one seemed so immediate to me - and unbiased. It hit all the right buttons for me. Yeah you're very wrong. Mind blowing chops? Come on now. Any very skilled bassist will tell you right now that he's doing ANYTHING difficult on this album. He just does some scale runs here and there. He's not doing the kinds of complex runs he used to do. John Myung has MIND BLOWING chops. Geddy has never even been remotely close to that complex of a bassist. So yeah, this reviewer IS a fanboy, like you. And yet, instead of a "very skilled bassist" telling us this, you are.
  8. QUOTE (eshine @ Aug 1 2012, 10:35 PM) And yes, it deserves it's own thread. The guy really nails it. Critics, haters and cynics be warned - this review will give you a nosebleed. allmusic.com Clockwork Angels review. Same 4/5 rating they gave S&A.
  9. 2112. The Red Star is iconic.
  10. QUOTE (spock @ Aug 2 2012, 07:08 PM) All I know is that there are a few defining RUSH song openings: Spirit or Radio, Tom Sawyer, Freewill, Limelight but Fly by Night was THE FIRST! Working Man would like to have a nice cold beer with you...
  11. All The World's A Stage was my gateway album.
  12. Another jewel from the embarrassment of riches that is CoS! Hard to pick just one part, but I chose In the Valley, because it looked lonely with that "0" next to it.
  13. The Found Tit of Lamb Meth.
  14. It's 1:29... who cares, the song is over soon enough. Bunch of whiny little *$#%&'s complaining about it.
  15. QUOTE (Tony R @ Jul 27 2012, 05:36 AM) I recently updated a bio on Progarchives about the band Headspace by adding an MP3, "Stalled Armegeddon" The album "I Am Anonymous" features Rick Wakeman's son Adam and would probably appeal to fans of Queensryche/Dream Theater. Click this link to hear the track Worth a listen. Thanks for the link, I'm listening to it right now.
