adace1
^Yeah they have some amazing stuff. I also forgot to mention the master of ambient music, Steve Roach who you might also like. A lot of his stuff is droney like SotL but he also makes ethereal/spacey ambient and some tribal ambient. You should check him out if you haven't already. driventotheedge
QUOTE (apetersvt @ Dec 17 2011, 09:10 AM) Not many people are aware of Gov't Mule. Warren Haynes is one of the coolest people on the planet. Plus he sure can play the guitar (and gets to be on my signature). Warren is the shit. Have seen him like 3 times with the ABB though never with the Mule. Have one of their DVDs though and watch it fairly often.

driventotheedge
Head East. Long since defunct group from the mid-70s to early 80s. Straight ahead Midwest rock & roll band and better live than on record. Saw 'em open for Atlanta Rhythmn Section and totally kicked ARS's ass. Also saw 'em open for Styx on the Grand Illusion tour and they held their own resonably well.

drbirdsong
Del Amitri. They had a one hit wonder moment in the 1990s with "Roll To Me". Their entire back catalog is just a bittersweet wonder. The band ended, but lead singer Justin Currie has a couple of solo albums out.

softfilter
In the middle 80's(84-86) I had a ton of them part of the Paisley Underground movement, Brought on by the success of R.E.M. The Long Ryders were a favorite of mine along with The Three O Clock, Wire Train,Lets Active, The Connells who had one hit called 74-75, should of been way more popular cause they have some solid fantastic albums great song writing well crafted music that's still sounds fresh even to this day- " Boylan Heights, One Simple Word" on heavy rotation
