goose
Never understood the hate for this song. The intro growl is worth the price of admission!

KenJennings
It, like Dog Years, is a solid song. One of the best off of CoS, IMO. I'd love it if they opened a show with it- more to say "na-na-na-boo-boo" to the Rush geeks who hate it, than because I really care to hear it live. But, hey, if they did play it, I'd gladly dig it! 1 of the 7
Sorry, none of the options really fit me - I love the song, think it's a great blend of humor and poignancy, and wouldn't mind hearing it live at all - but not as the opener. Now closer? THAT would be cool.

Sure, except the band doesn't like it either, so we've got them on our side

An Enemy Without
This thread inspired me to play CoS again tonight, so I did, and I thought about it. ITIGB is a BRILLIANT song! You guys just don't know what you're talking about!

trenken
It's goofy but I always kind of liked that about it. I'd rather hear something more playful than them sing about necromancers, that's for sure. Plus Geddy's vocals are completely awesome on it. danielmclark
Because nothing screams LET'S ROCK TONIGHT! KICK IT! like a mid-tempo half-a-joke song about going bald that half the audience probably doesn't know and 80% of the remainder doesn't like. Yeah, way to pump up the crowd. Why not just start off with a cover of a traditional flamenco tune or maybe bring out Enya for a little a capella duet with Alex.

Those don't count. They are pre-recorded bits that play before the band comes out. They play a little comedy bit and then BAM! dive into a strong opener. 'Bald isn't a strong opener for the aforementioned reasons. Edited December 16, 2011 by danielmclark

rushfanNlv
Work it into an R30 style medley that opens the show or the second half of the show. While the band is playing the song in the medley, the cameras are focused on the back of Alex's head showing, on all three screens, a huge close up of his bald spot.
