nettiesaur
I'm seriously considering going to this one, and making it a mini vacation. How good is the view if I sit on the side, not on the floor?

Rushchick10
I saw the last Vegas show at the MGM. I was in the 8th row floor on Geddy's side. I had a great seat, and had awesome sound. Can't speak for the rest of the venue, though. But, it seems like a nice, average size venue. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

The floor is pretty level and if you aren't tall (or up close) then you may have problems with the floor view.
RushCanuck
I am pondering trying to buy tickets to this one and making a vacation out of it with the family. maybe sightseeing while there (are there day tours to Grand Canyon?) any advice is appreciated from this novice traveller. thank you. The floor is pretty level and if you aren't tall (or up close) then you may have problems with the floor view. That's what I thought. I am short, and when I went to a show last year, here in Milwaukee, I had trouble seeing over the tall people(as usual), and that floor is slanted downward towards the stage. I really can't afford a VIP package, so the sides may be a better bet.
pedro2112
Pedro will be there! I was hoping Mrs. Pedro would accompany me, but I think I may be going solo this time. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/patron.gif
Skin Bag
At last year's show I had seats in first tier about half way back and they were very good. I'd suggest you go for something on the side unless you already purchased tix this morning.
nettiesaur
I decided not to go. I can't get into the section I want to sit in, and it's just too expensive, maybe next year.

That One Guy
I super want to go, but haven't bought tickets yet. Anyone that's been to Rush @ MGM before, wanna tell me how decent the cheapo seats are?
luvrush
QUOTE (rushforumnewuser @ Jan 22 2011, 07:02 AM) I am pondering trying to buy tickets to this one and making a vacation out of it with the family. maybe sightseeing while there (are there day tours to Grand Canyon?) any advice is appreciated from this novice traveller. thank you. You should definitely do all the expected things on the strip - the volcano at the Mirage, fountains at the Bellagio, the gardens inside the Bellagio, get your picture taken at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign on the south side of the strip. Try to hit Fremont Street which is downtown and has an overhead light show, and maybe the Venetian for the gondola rides. You can definitely do a Grand Canyon tour from Vegas - either driving or flying through something like Scenic Airlines. If you drive to the south rim (the most popular) it takes about 5 hours as does the north rim. The north rim is much more remote, but I prefer it because you don't have to fight at the rails to get a view of the canyon because it is just not as crowded. The west rim has that crazy skywalk - I've never been because I know I would freak out looking down and seeing nothingness - yikes - so I have no wisdom to share there. I think it is probably about a 2 &1/2 hour drive? If you want to do a few special things, I would suggest the following - go to the Eiffel Tower restaurant in the Paris. It is rather pricey, but worth it for a special night out. You can sit at the window and watch the fountain show at the Bellagio across the street. The food is really yummy too!! You should also try to see the Cirque de Soliel show Beatles Love. It is an awesome "feel good" kind of show - will make you feel like a kid again. But if I have one piece of advice, and you have the time, I would suggest going to Zion National Park in southern Utah. It is about a two and a half hour drive, but sooooooo worth it. You could do it in a day, but it would be better to stay over night. In my opinion, the most beautiful place in the world (pictures in my sig). Oh and eat breakfast while you're there at the Pioneer Lodge in Springdale. Consider me your handy dandy travel agent. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Unattractive Truth
My wife and I will be going back to Las Vegas for this show. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/common001.gif We were first side section (Section 17), row 3 last summer (on Alex's side). Those seats were fine. The MGM is a pretty nice arena. Well designed (except for getting out when the show is over). I think it probably holds 14,000?? Looking forward to it! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1287.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif
